Scrollbar disappear when maximized

I'm not sure if anybody else has this problem, but my shader tab scrollbar appear to have disappeared. It only appears to happen when the window is maximized and it comes back when the program isn't full screen. At first I thought it might drawn off the screen, but you can see from the attached pictures that isn't the case.

Has anybody else had this problem and if so, how can I solve it?

Thanks in advance

  • Which pane is that? The Surfaces pane? Seeing the whole UI might be helpful (hide any nude figures in the scene, though).

Thank you for your help. It appears to be affecting the surface pane, but I've noticed that it is only happening when I have applied a shader. I've created a new scene and have attached the results below.

In your second image you hae the Shader Baker pane in the same column (and group) of panes. That, and Shader Mixer, have a large minimum width which pushes the edge of the pane under the edge of the window - apparently DS will still draw the sliders to fit the visible portion, but the scroll bar is lost  -try removing the Shader Baker pane from that group and see what happens.

Pure nonsense - I saw Sahder Baker and thought of Builder/Mixer.

  • That's actually odd - your first image has the item selected but none of its surfaces yet is displaying sliders, which I didn't think was possible, and shows no shader at all, which should certainly be impossible to my knowledge. I get a scroll-bar with the Asphalt Iray shader applied, using the 4.11.0.236 Public Build at least.

I reported something similar 3 years ago with DS 4.9, and I later confirmed to CS that it still happens in DS 4.10.0.123. Request #207530. In my case it was render settings that was missing the scrollbar. For me, it happened when the list of items to be shown was almost all visible already, but there was one more item in the list that should have been available by scrolling to it. Customer Service confirmed the problem, but it has never been fixed.

I believe it happens because there are docked panes at the bottom of the screen. The image attached here is the one I attached to my help request. Try undocking those panes and lesson bar.

I guess the Asphalt shader is a very specific one and the limited list of settings ends with the "Angle" that is half showen at the bottom.

Must be a bug, I saw issues like this before in the Content Library pane that I have docked on the right side with a divider in the pane group. No matter if I choose big thumbnail icons or text, in specific situations depending on the size of the pane and how much icons are in the content folder it can happen that the last icon in the list only gets half showen and there will be no scrollbar.

Workaround: scale the pane up, or undock it and dock it to the left side to give it more space, or press the arrow down key to try to get the highlight down to the last icon in the list. I can confirm this bug in Daz Studio 4.10.0.123. Could be some issue with the layout and the pane group divider on the right side or the bottom part of the Surface pane where it says "Tips" gets ignored by the program decision to show a scrollbar or not.
