Hello,
I recently installed Daz Studio 4.10 Pro on my iMac and I'm not able to load Genesi 8 figures (Male or Female), I get the following error message: "Could not open file:/People/ Genesis 8 Female/ Genesis 8 Basic Female.duf File does not exist". I have installed Daz Studio and Genesis using the Daz Install Manager, haven't changed default locations, and for what I was able to see the file does exist in the correct directory. I Have no problems loading Genesis and Genesis 3. Daz Studio version is 4.10.0.123, MacOS is 10.13.6. Attached is a screenshot of the library and the error message. Tried searching the forums, but didn't find a solution. Anybody with the same problem?

Keep in mind that Smart Content is not a view of your content files, it's a filtered and sorted view of database entries of links pointing to where your content files ought to be if they were installed properly. Things can go wrong with installation, or with the database itself. Can you find G8F in the Content Library tab, which does give you a direct view of the actual content files stored on your computer? It should be in the People subfolder of the DAZ Studio Formats section in the Content Library tab.
Just to check, does the Genesis 8 Resources show as installed in DIM?
Genesis 8 shows as installed in DIM and I can find it the Content Library tab. I even ttried unistalling everything and doing a manual install, but still can't load. I get this message with everything that should be installed with Genesis 8 (clothing, hair, etc.)
Forgot to add: tried with the public beta of DS 4.11 too, still can't load all Genesis 8 related content. I don't have problems with other figures or props and I am installing everything using DIM. I suppose there's something wrong with Genesis 8 installation but can't figure out what it is. Tried reinstalling multiple times with no luck.
In Smart Content go to the Products tab (you are currently in Files),click All Products on the left, and type Starter in the filter box - you should then see the various Genesis # Starter Essentials. Right-click on Genesis Starter Essentials - does the pop-up menu offer Install or Uninstall?
I followed your instructions Richard and the pop-up offers "Install update" and "Uninstall"
I meant to ask about Genesis 8 Starter Essentials, rather than Genesis Starter Essentials, but in any even - having that option in the menu means the product is showing as installed via Connect, and either has an update since you installed or didn't install correctly. When there is, by the database, a Connect isntall DS will use those files in preference to a DIM or manual install and so will report the files as missing if there's an issue with some or all of them. You could try the Install Update option, and see if that then works, or you could Uninstall and see if the DIM version works or if the product simply shows as not installed at all.
Thank you Richard, I installed the update and now it works. I also noticed that other starter sets, like Genesis 3 as an example that was installed by DIM, were loading correctly but had the "install" option in the pop-up, so now I'm installing everythig with that option using Daz Connect, to avoid any issues. And the Genesis 8 Starter Essential had a "reload" icon on the thumbnail before I did the update, Genesis 3 and others had a "down arrow" icon.
Yes, the down arrow with a colour icon means the item is isntalled but not via Connect (the down arrow with a grey icon means not installed at all). If you do install via Connect I'd recommend uninstalling the DIM version as it won't be used, unless you need to have the files readily available for another application.
I face the same problem and I have no People subfolder of the DAZ Studio Formats section in the Content Library tab. How should I proceed?
