New releases being rushed through?

I just bought two new releases (Ultrumarine Ocean and Cloth Shaders vol 1 Gingham) and when I go to their product readme pages they both have placeholders saying they haven't been released yet. Also, the store page for the cloth shaders says it has a Poser companion file which is not in my downloads, and since it looks like a 3Delight shader I wouldn't expect to find one.

Does anyone else get the impression that a lot of stuff is being rushed through the store without much checking being done? New releases with no readme files are becoming quite common now.

I just bought the exact same thing! In general I stopped looking for readmes. They aren't usually helpful, sometimes missing or incomplete.

The readme's should be up for the Cloth Shaders now, and I'll check the product page.

It's not that the products are being rushed through - it's more about the way we're doing daily releases instead of the usual weekly ones for the PC and the tasks we have to do (and in what order)

So annoying, yes.. but in cases where readmes arent live, we're getting them online as soon as it's brought to our attention

Also, I'm hearing that wiki is making all the active ones inactive also - so it may be a wider issue too.

When readmes were set up before release people used to trawl through them and announce what they'd found, so to avoid spoilers they now seem to be delayed until the product is released, which means they are sometimes a little late.

I'm still getting a placeholder for the Cloth Shaders so it may be down to this wider issue (I tried on my other computer to make sure it isn't a cacheing problem, same result).

Also, you can add "Growing Up for Genesis" to the list of placeholders although I don't think that was one of today's new releases.

For most stuff it isn't a problem, I just look in the zip file to see where the items are installed. But for shaders and stuff with special lights and atmospheric cameras sometimes you have to read the documentation to see what it can do. And for newbies who aren't familar with the structure of Daz Studio libraries or Poser runtimes it must be really confusing.

I dare say there a few main store items, but that doesn't fall under PC jurisdiction.. will fire in a note to the team though :)

The idea of spoilers sounds interesting. But you can usually tell what the item will be from the name of the placeholder. I remember stumbling across placeholders for The Mad Doctor and The Mad Nurse when I was looking for another readme and mentioning them in the forum. Was that a spoiler? Those placeholders were put there months before the items were released.

Aw thpt! I like to wiki hunt but I wouldn't tell WHAT I found - maybe hint in a general way in the PC forum's thread, but the hunting was half the fun some weeks.

I think waht Richard was saying is that sometimes a person would notice that a product's readme had either today's or tomorrow's date on it for release, but that it wasn't live in the store yet and then there would be a post saying Product X is coming out today. Instead of a more general hint of "ooh we get to color things even more"

All three items have their readme's in place now, and the Ultrumarine one includes some useful information that you can't get just by looking at where things are in the installer.

    Hi Peter et al.
This is my product "UltruMarine Ocean" and I'm glad to see the readme is up. There were many details that I wanted people to know about that just didn't fit in or weren't appropriate for the main product page. I'm very proud of this set and have to give thanks for all the great advice I was given here in the forum during development.

I can answer any questions if you like. Standing by....
