How to Fix Genesis 8 Female Armpit Gap?

How do I fix the armpit gap that appears in Genesis 3 Female models when posing?

Hi there! I've been dipping my toes back into the DAZ Studio waters and messing around with the Genesis 8 figures. After applying some poses to the Genesis 8 Female model (no morphs applied, just the base model), I noticed something that bothers me a bit:

Armpit gap from the front

There is a noticeable gap in the armpit area when applying certain poses. There's nothing especially wonky about this pose, either; it's just a basic standing pose. Here it is from behind:

I've been working mainly with the Genesis 3 models throughout my tinkering and experimentation, only recently looking into G8, so I don't know if this is a common thing or not. I've tried searching these forums, and across all of the Google realm, and I couldn't find any answers, nor anybody else coming across this same quirk.

Am I just doing something wrong? Missing a step in setting up this model?

That is not the way G8F normally bends. You may have a product installed that has errors causing this. What character is this? Does it happen with the base G8F? If so, open the Parameters pane, turn on Show Hidden in the context menu, select Currently Used, and see if something unexpected shows up in the list. You may have a product installed that is forcing its morphs into every character.
  • Okay, this is weird. I did what you said, and at first found nothing, as I had placed just the base Genesis 8 Basic Female model, as-is. But then I applied a pose, and checked for hidden sliders. That's when I found dozens of sliders set to various settings. I reset them all manually to zero, and now the pose looks... completely normal.

The sliders have such names as: "pJCMAbdomenFwd_35" and "pJCMChestSide_20_R". They look like adjustments that are tacked on with the pose, but when I zero these hidden adjustment sliders out, the pose looks normal:

Armpit gap is now gone after zeroing out hidden adjustment sliders

And when I view the properties of one of these hidden adjustment sliders:

I guess it's related to Teen Josie 7 for Genesis 8 Female, but I can't be sure. These morphs seem to be injected into the model from the start.

Those are JCMs (Joint Controlled Morphs). They are automatically activated when a pose rotates a bone. They are intended to fix the character mesh so it looks better in the particular rotation angle used in the pose. It is normal, to see some of those hidden morphs when a character is posed. However, sometimes those JCMs get dialed in when they should not be, if a product has an error in it. I don't know why a Teen Josie 7 JCM would be dialed into a Genesis 8 Female, though.

Did you purchase a product that adds Teen Josie 7 morphs to Genesis 8? Perhaps Teen Josie 7 for Teen Josie 8 Oops. I just saw the last line of your message where you mentioned this product. Maybe it has a bug in it.

Do you have Teen Josie 8 dialed into the character you are working with?

What pose package are the poses from?
