Difficulty in finding a downloaded item

Hello All,

A while back I purchased this item:

https://www.daz3d.com/dmr-moon-cult

I purchased it with a bunch of other items and now realized that this item is NOT showing up anywhere in Daz.  I looked in Environments, in props, in accessories and it isn't anywhere in the Smart Content tab.  So I proceeded to look in my Content LIbrary and normally I find things here I can't find anywhere since all I need to know is the title.  So I tried to look it up under D (DMR) and also under M for Moon Cult.   To my surprise, it isn't showing up that way either.

Thinking that it didn't install, I opened the Daz Install Manager and opened the Installed list and it shows up there saying that it is installed.

So my question is simple...Where is it?

Thanks!

Here's a tip that may come in handy for future reference:

Each product in the DAZ3D store has an SKU number (Stock Keeping Unit). In the case of the DMR Moon Cult product, the SKU# is 8437. That tells us that it is an older product and therefore, as davegv pointed out, it is probably in Poser format and so should be looked for there in your Content Library. Additionally, you can usually get more information relative to using the product by going to the DAZ3D Documentation Centre: Help > Click on the "To The Wiki" button under Documentation Centre. Under the Main Topics list on the left, click on Product Read Me's. Here's where knowing that SKU# is important - on the left side of the page that just opened you'll see a Product Index list with groups of numbers - those are the SKU's. Knowing your product is #8437, you would choose/click on "8000 - 8999". The next page will give an alphbetical listing of products. Scroll down to the D's and find DMR Moon Cult and click on it. That opens the readme page for that product (It may seem complicated, but you'll get the hang of it after a time or two)..It tells us this, amongst other things:

"You can find new icons for loading this product in the following Poser Libraries:

    • Camera: “DMR MoonCult”

    • Light: “DMR MoonCult”

    • Props: “DMR MoonCult”

    • Scene: “DMR MoonCult”

    • You can find new icons for loading this product in the following DAZ Studio 4 Locations:

      • “Scenes:DMR MoonCult”

      • “Sets:Architecture:Exteriors:DMR MoonCult”

      • “Presets:Cameras:DMR MoonCult”

      • “Presets:Lights:DMR MoonCult”

    • Usage Tips:

      • The easiest way is to use one of the pz3's which are included.

        • You will find them in “Scene: “DMR MoonCult”

      • Without Use of the PZ3s :

        • You will find the props in your props- folder called: “DMR MoonCult”.

      • Lights and Cameras:

        • All camera - and light settings from the included .PZ3 scenes can also be found in your camera and light - folders “DMR MoonCult”."

You can also reach the read me by clicking the info icon (i in a circle) icon next to the product in Install Manager, or by right-clicking on the folder in Smart Content>Products or the products tab of Smart Content or the Install pane and selecting More Info... If you right-click on the product's entry in Install Manager you will also get a Show Installed Files command, which lists what went where, and of course the Product views in DS show the files too (and you can use the right-click>Show Asset In sub menu to go to the file-based view)..

I have taken a look doing it this way (via the Install Manager) and it says that it is in the "My Daz Studio/ Runtime" folder.  However within Daz, looking under the My Daz Studio folder tab, there is no such 'Runtime' folder.  From the look of it, it has to be moved someplace to be seen, but I am wary about moving anything for fear of screwings something up.  Already I have noticed that some icons have gone missing from my tabs and I am curious as to that too as I have NOT moved anything yet.

    Thanks!

Jukingeo, could you possibly show us a screen capture from within DAZ Studio of your content directories? Do this:

    Open Daz Studio

Right-click on the Content Library tab

In the resulting pop-up window, click on Content Directory Manager

In the resulting window, under Current Directories, expand both the DAZ Studio Formats and Poser Formats by clicking on the little "+" next to each.

Take a screenshot/screen capture and attach a copy of that image to a post here.

That should help us figure out the issue, or at least eliminate one potential source of the problem.

  • Not seeing the Runtime folder (or the Libraries folder within it) is good. When looking under Poser Formats you should expect to see Poser Formats>Content Directory name (e.g. My Daz 3d Library) then the names of the actual library folderrs - Cameras, Figure (which is the Character folder on disc), Expressions (the faces folder), Hair, Hand, Lights, Pose, Props, and Scenes  -and then within those the folders for the products.

Okay, I used the Snipping Tool and posted the result below.  In addtion, I went into the DIM and clicked on the menu that shows where the packages are installed to.  When I clicked on the DMR Moon Cult package it shows a path to the 'runtime' directory.  This is NOT showing up in my Content library.

If you say it is good, then I take your word for it.  However, it seems the DIM put my content in a place where it shouldn't be?

You probably know by now what I am up to from my other thread in which I want to move the Content Library to a different drive.  However, I do need to know where everything is.  Finding this out now has me wondering what else is missing.

I just want to go about this carefully and the right way as I am new to Daz and already spent a chunk of change on it.  So I don't want to lose anything.  Granted I can go back to the DIM and redownload it if I have to, but I would like to avoid that.

Finally the last picture.  That shows what I mean about losing icons.  Here is a group of eyeliners that I downloaded from a package.  As you see an entire chunk of icons are missing.  I don't know what those eyeliners are now.  I have been noticing this across the board, but granted only one or two missing here and there.  But this is the worst of it that an entire group is not showing up.

    Thanks

Ok,in the image below you'll see in the content tab "Poser Format". The libraries in that are essentially your runtime folders. Notice in your list, there are cameras, and there is a camera folder there.

What SixDs shows you is where in the Poser Formats folders you'll find these items.

    Hello,

I am sorry I am late at responding to this, but I had other pressing matters to take care of and frankly I did forget.  But I bought another DM scene recently and was reminded of my trouble with finding this one.  So using that info above, I DID finally find it.   However, what I would like to know is if I can get this to show up in my Daz folder and not just the Poser one.  Also I find it weird that this is a Daz compatible package and I can't find it in the Daz folders, only the Poser one.  Finally, I have other DM scenes and this is the only one I can't find in my Daz folder.  Can I move it into the Daz folder?  I  figured I would ask first as I know moving things around in Daz is generally not a good idea.

I do want to organize these DM items better anyway as most I have to get to by the Content Library, rather than using the Smart Content tab.  I would like to get them under the Smart Content tab and when I pull up the 'Props' folder there, that it shows up.

    Thank you,

    Geo
