Diner Food Question

I would like to buy the following product from the DAZ Shop...

However, the description does not list a .DUF file for the props, just .PP2 and .OBJ, so my question is will I be able to use this prop from the Smart Content tab, or will it be located in Content Library only? I have not purchased anything from DAZ that is not a .DUF file so far, so that's why I'm a bit confused.

Also, will this use 3Delight or Iray? I am only rendering in Iray so I don't want to purchase anything that is only 3Delight, and so far it's been hit and miss with older products because not all of them use Iray.

    I own that product. It does appear in Smart Content. It only comes with Poser materials and 3Delight materials.

    It lists DAZ Studio materials, so do you think that it will render in Iray with DAZ materials? But the diner food lists the same .DSA preset, so I guess that means 3Delight?

    • Material Presets for DAZ Studio (.dsa)

    They are 3Delight, but look okay in Iray. And you can convert them to Iray, if you want.

    Sorry, one last question. How do you convert it to Iray? Is there a conversion product for this in the DAZ Shop?

    I need a burger for a scene, and this is the only decent looking hamburger in the DAZ Shop, so would love to be able to use it in Iray, and the Sushi as well.

    Or you can just use the uber shader that comes with Daz and that works for virtually everything.

    If there's no mention of Iray on the prduct page or promos then if it includes DS materials there's a 99% chance that it's 3DL.

    .dsa was the format used before DS 4.5, so .dsa presets will most certaily be 3DL too.

     

    That doesn't mean it can't be used with Iray: DS does an automatic conversion of standard 3DL materials when you render with Iray. You may need to adjust the materials beyond automatic conversion for some things, but it works pretty well for a lot of items.

    Where you need to be careful is if that items uses specific 3DL shaders like AoA shader, which can't be translated automatically.

    Thank you Leana. That is extremely helpful! 

    I purchased the Diner Food 4 product today, so I will try to use it later today to create a hamburger. 

    If it looks good, I will also purchase the Sushi One and Two because they look incredible.
