Does anyone or has anyone used an APU for Daz3d recently?

My tower got dropped down a flight of stairs, and I have to get a new motherboard and PSU, and possibly a new GPU. I don't really have it in my budget to buy all three. So I was thinking of building something cheaper for now. Maybe an a8 3870k fm1 series, or an fm3 if it would really help things. Any thoughts on this? Obviously rendering times would be long to say the least.
