Pose Converter

I just purchased this product because DAZ has it on sale right now...

https://www.daz3d.com/genesis-3-to-genesis-8-pose-converter

I am looking for any documentation on this product but there seems to be none. Not even a readme file.

So if I want to convert all my G3 Poses to G8 Poses what do I do?

Do I run the "Genesis 3 to Genesis 8 Pose Converter" Script and follow the prompts?

What are the !Add and !Remove Script options?

My guess is the "Pose Corrector" Script will correct individual poses on the fly, without saving them to G8 versions.

I just wish there was a little more guidance on this product as it would save me some time. Instead I am looking through the forums for any answers I can find, and posting this question hoping for a response.

From what I can see it works great from what people say in the forums, but I could not find a simple explanation of how to use this.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you go to the product page and click through the images (or better save the images), you will have made your own product manual.  The simple version is you click on the script, choose a destination folder, choose poses you want to convert, execute the script, and then close the script. You then can use the poses.

Thank you Nemesis, I will try it today.

When I clicked on the product assistance link it took me to the help forum for the product, but starts at the beginning when it was first released. There were a few bugs back then which have been worked out from what I'm seeing. The forum is 8 pages long, so that kind of confused me and I think it's a lot simpler than it looks.

From what I gathered, after I run the script I will need to Refresh the Content Library (Right Click in the Content Library pane & select ''Refresh'' then navigate to the destination folder you chose.)

    So I have two questions:

    1. If I close DAZ Studio and launch it again, is that the same as a Refresh?

    2. Will the poses show up in Smart Content or just in the Content Library? I have poses in both places ... the G3 pose products that I purchased from DAZ appear in Smart Content so I'm hoping the converted G8 poses will be accessible from the Smart Content pane as well.

    Thanks.

The library is refreshed when you open Daz Studio, but you don't have to restart it to refresh, right-click -> Refresh on the branch or folder is good enough. There is an option to include metadata on the output files (down at the bottom of the popup). This copies the metadata so it will be functional in Smart Content (to the same degree as the original), and sets compatibility to Genesis 8. It will not alter your custom categories, so you will need to change that manually, or move the references. (If you don't use custom categories, don't worry about it.)

Northof45, Thank you! That definitely helps to know that.
