Focus issue

I'm trying to figure out why my images seem slightly blurry.  (Obviously this is with DOF turned OFF.)  They just lack the crispness I see in many renders.  I end up having to sharpen in post, which is suboptimal.  I found a 2015 forum posting that references some render settings that I no longer see on the current system.  For example, pixel filter should be set to "sinc"?  My options are Gaussian, box, Mitchell, Lanczos and triangle.  No "sinc."  Also "pixel sampling" values on X and Y should be in a certain numeric range and equal?  I don't even see those values on my render settings anywhere.  Still, It seems like this would more likely be a render setting than a camera setting, but maybe I'm wrong.  Would appreciate any suggestions.

  • Those settingsa re for 3Delight, you are using Iray. You are, however, in the right area of Render Settings for the equivalent features and may just need to experiment a bit

Try Mitchell and a value of 1.0 instead of the default Gaussian and 1.5.
