Quick question about packaging.

When the time comes to package up my clothing model.

Do I need to save out all the clothing morphs and JCMs to assets as well as saving the clothing asset itself?

Also is there any difference between having male and female versions of the clothes in the same pack or seperate. Because I notice that most content creators have a pack for each, is this for a specific technical reason?

Thanks for your time :)

  • If you are planning to submit to Daz then yes, as far as I know, you would need to save the morphs as assets. It's a good idea anyway - it avoids saving the data embedded in every scene which uses the clothing and embedded morphs can be problematic (though that's mainly when they are on the base figure, not a fitted item).

There are no technical reasons not to combine male and female - however, you do have to weigh the posibility of puttin off those who want the version for only one sex and resent paying for the other against those who would resent having to buy two products with (I assume) broadly the same textures and mesh in each.

  • Thanks again Richard :)
