The diminishing C: Drive...Can downloaded content be relocated?

Hello All,

When I started up with Daz Studio back in December, I have a mostly converted to Linux computer.  But naturally I kept my Windows 7 partition active for those programs that I still need Windows with.  However, I never thought I would be putting something very big on the drive.  That was before I got Daz Studio.   I am already hooked on using this program and I do admit, being new, I have been buying a lot of stuff.  The trouble is that I have been noticing my C: drive getting quite full.  Now I have other drives and partitions on my machine, so I would like to know if it is possible to move the downloaded content to another drive and then anything new that is loaded on goes to that drive?

I know that the directory structure is pretty specific with Daz, but I would like to maintain some kind of space on the C: drive as a workspace, but at the rate I am going the C: drive will be full before the summer!

However, I just bought a new 500gig solid state drive and I want to move some of the new material there.  Is this possible?

Thank you.

Yes, it is definitely possible. Many people find themselves in exactly your position.

The steps that you will need to take will vary depending upon the way to download content to your content library. If you use either DIM or Connect to download or install your content from DAZ3D, there are some extra steps necessary. Here is a link to a recent thread that should provide you with the information you require:

I'd suggest reading through it once before begiining.

Yes, I have ONLY been using the Daz Install Manager for everything.  As I said in my first post, I did read up on the directory structure when I ran in to problems finding things.  I read it is pretty specific.  As it is I STILL have stuff I bought that I cannot find or access because of the weird place it sometimes puts things.  But I never once did anything without the DIM.

I will take a peek at that link.

    Thanks!

EDIT:  Ok I looked at that link and I went to where the My Daz Studio folder is.  There are two other Daz folders there (see attached).  One doesn't have much in it and can stay.  But the other is for the download manager and it has stuff in it too and it is 49gig. I want to move that too. More than likely since that folder is the downloaded files, I would have to change the download link within the DIM too.   Now the question is...do I really need to keep these?  It is taking up twice the space since the content is already in the My Daz 3D Library folder.
