Daz3d is not using my new ram

Hello,
I had a computer at home with a GTX1070, Intel Core i7 8th Gen 8700 and 8GB of Ram. As I was just starting on Daz, this set up was more than enough to start playing with models, follow tutorials, learning about lights and getting into Daz pretty much. However, as I started feeling confident with the software, I started building heavier scenes with more models + furniture and my computer immediately started to struggle (freeze of death, sluggish camera movement, long loading time for Iray...)
I updated my computer with 32gb of ram yesterday. Now my computer works a breeze and I'm immediately able to work on the heavier scenes I created. However, I am not seeing any improvement in rendering time at all? Moreover, when I look at the task manager while the rendering is happening, my computer is only using 6gb of ram with 25 gig unused.
Is this normal?

Adding RAM will help only if memory is the choke point. If the scenes fit into the 1070, and you have it enabled in the Advanced tab of Render Settings, then the main system specs (CPU and RAM) mean little; if the scene is overflowing and using the CPU then CPU speed is likely to be the crucial factor. How hard is the CPU working in Task Manager when DS is rendering?
Just wondering what OS you are using, is it Windows 10? Have you gone into task manager to see how hard your cpu and cores is working? How about the GPU? What are your settings on the Advanced tab? Are you running background tasks.
If anything I would recommend adding more RAM to main system and get it up to 16MB.
I had the same thing weeks ago and fiddled out I had to upgrade my windows licence to Pro. It cost me ca. 15$ for the old Win7. Now it's using all my new 32GB RAM and the render time is just nearly the half in comparison to the before status for the same scene...
