Anderson for Genesis 8 Male body shape??
![MGMOZ](https://farnsworth-prod.uc.r.appspot.com/forums/uploads/userpics/889/nU10SN0J4FWTY.jpg)
Is anyone else having trouble with https://www.daz3d.com/anderson-for-genesis-8-male?
The skin seems fine but the shaping is just the standard G8 male shape!
Is it just me, something I'm not doing right, or are others having the same issue?

I have the product and the appropriate body shape works for me; what method did you use to install?
I've got him, and he loads just fine. He has a custom head and body slider, and uses none of the Genesis 8 Male Head or Body Morphs, and all three of his sliders (head, body, control) load at full when I use his Character preset from the Content Library.
Maybe try reinstalling him?
I used the DAZ Install Manager as I have for all my DAZ items. I tried loading the basic G8 Male body & then loading the Anderson shaping onto that without any luck. Other G8 Male characters are working fine.
Tried a random G8 character or two on the basic G8 Male & they all reshape to suit but not so with G8 Anderson.
Something odd is happening with another item I downloaded, https://www.daz3d.com/bend-of-the-river , it loaded fine but it won't let me turn ON the leaves & grass! ...weird!!!
...yes, and another item, https://www.daz3d.com/20-unique-smiles-hd-for-genesis-8-males-, is only giving me the reset option for the smiles... nothing else!
I did a render just in case so here is the shape I see:
Thanks,nemesis10 & vwrangler, I am trying a reload of all three items now. I'll see if that helps. Cheers!
I've uploaded two images "Anderson" & "No Anderson". As you can see from the slider, that is the difference that I get!
I have already uninstalled & re-installed the file.
What happens if you use the Character actor from the Content Library and not from Smart Content? (They should be the same thing, but the one I have in Content Library works fine, so there may be something wonky with his metadata that makes Smart Content misbehave.)
Thanks but no, still have the same problem. I'm starting to suspect the issue is coming from elsewhere.
All three of these products are not working correctly even after I have totally uninstalled and re-installed them:
https://www.daz3d.com/bend-of-the-river (No foliage on trees or grass)
https://www.daz3d.com/20-unique-smiles-hd-for-genesis-8-males- (No smiles except 'reset')
https://www.daz3d.com/anderson-for-genesis-8-male (no character shaping)
Thanks for trying to help. I've run out of time & patience for now.
Cheers!
I took another look at your images again, and I can tell part what's wrong with your Anderson installation, although I don't know why it's happening.
In your parameters tab, you have a single Anderson slider -- his main full body control slider. However, there should be three sliders with the word "Anderson" for him -- control, head, body (see attached image). He's not working because he's not all there. It looks like he's got his scaling, and a bit of his body shape, in the control slider, but nothing else.
If you can, look at this folder: data\DAZ 3D\Genesis 8\Male\Morphs\Faber Inc\Anderson
The part before "data" will be wherever you have your content installed, so the fuller path may be something like
My Daz3D Library\data\DAZ 3D\Genesis 8\Male\Morphs\Faber Inc\Anderson or some such
In that folder, there should be 34 files: 2 .dhdm files (encrypted, his HD files); 3 PNG images (the images for his sliders), and 29 other .dsf files, with his visible sliders (file names start with FBM, FHM and CTRL) and his PCMs, JCMs and other stuff. At the very least, I would think your directory as it now stands is missing his FBM and FHM file, since you can't see them. Alternately, the files are corrupted so that Studio can't see them.
The only thing I can suggest is doing a manual download and install, since you've done a DIM install and it didn't work. In theory, they should be the same ZIP file, but maybe DIM isn't handling something correctly.
Before doing another download/install, I would trash that directory, so that you know you're doing a clean install.
I'd imagine that the same thing is happening with your other troubled products -- they're literally not all there -- but unfortunately, I don't have them to check.
Hi everyone! thank you vwrangler and everyone who has been helpful in this thread. :D
MGMOZ, I would like to know if you were able to make Anderson work for you?
No, I came to a grinding halt and, unfortunately, haven't made any progress. The issue seems to have affected several other products as well as I explained in a previoue post.
On my PC, using DIM, I have ended up with two known (by DIM) paths for my purchased products, "My DAZ 3D Library" & "My DAZ 3D Library Original" , the latter being the products that were transfered from an old PC when I updated last year.
I have noticed that products previously bought from Faber Inc have been installed by DIM in "My DAZ 3D Library Original" where as Anderson has been partly installed in "My DAZ 3D Library". Does that information suggest the cause or a solution to this issue?
Cheers, Ian
You have the DAZ Studio in "iRay Preview" mode and apparently your PC can't handle that. I'd change the preview mode to "Textured Shaded" instead of "nVidia iRay Preview" & those problems should go away with Anderson, your trees, & other such products.
Does the Iray preview mode hide morphs from the Parameters tab if it thinks the computer is underpowered? (My computer doesn't have a strong enough graphics card to manage both preview mode and doing ... well, anything else, so I never use it.)
Just out of curiosity, does a data directory for Anderson exist in "My Daz3D Library Original"?
I'm guessing that both "My Daz3D Library" and "My Daz3D Library Original" have also been mapped in Studio's own Content Directory Manager?
I would check the installation paths in both Studio and in DIM. Make sure that "My DAZ3D Library Original" has been removed from the content directory managers for DIM, if that's the one you meant to get rid of. If it shouldn't be installing things there, it's probably best if DIM doesn't know the path exists. (That said, doing that may make DIM decide that everything that was in that directory should be updated. No idea what will happen on that, I'm afraid.)
Manually delete the directories for the affected products with issues. Start with Anderson, just to start small -- with incorrect paths, I'm afraid you may be forced to check the readme pages to see where things are supposed to be and delete directories by hand. Then reinstall and see what happens.
Have you tried doing a straight manual install of Anderson, without DIM, downloading the Zip file from your product library, unzipping and dropping it to where it's supposed to be? Does that help/hurt/make no difference at all?
Yes, I would definitely start from there, and make sure you have all the necessary files to make it load properly.
Hey, thanks everyone for your help!
I did the manual installation and now Anderson is working fine!
Will try that on the other two products when I have the time!!
Cheers!
MGMOZ Very happy to hear that :D Enjoy!
