pwGhost Shaders
So these shaders were updated to be Daz 4.x compatible, so I jumped all over it since a story I have in mind has a "Ghost" type character; however, I am having a heck of a time with the shaders and getting them to do much of anything as shown in the package images. https://www.daz3d.com/pwghost
The first image I connect is what I get with ANY of the presets with no changes to them. I am using a single light, a single camera and a simple prop to see through. The character itself turns black, 100 percent solid black.. an interesting effect, as it does appear that it is a "shadow" and does not reflect light but obsorbs it instead. Still, not at all what I was expecting since the figure in the image is using the "Crackling Pink" shader. (she should look something like the electric ball in the package promo pictures.)
So playing around with the different settings, I do finally start to get something that looks like a "ghost" as in image 2. Unfortunately "playing around" means completely changing some. But the better the ghosting gets the more I start to notice a HUGE issue... Shadows.
Everything on the character casts a shadow, (even the eyebrows and lashes cast a shadow, but I'll worry about that later.) So I changed the setting, since I really need to figure out those shadows before going any farther. "Ghosts" do not cast shadows :), they might appear as a shadowy figure, but they themselves do not cast shadows. (in theory.)
Anyway, so the shaders do have a setting to change where the figure accepts shadows, okay, that's a start, each and every template and parameter has been changed to make it so it does not accept shadows... However, it still CASTS shadows.
So under the scene> character> Parameters> Actor> Display> I find "Cast Shadows" default is on... turn it off, I do not want shadows cast from anything on this character. So change pose to default pose, put her up against a wall, same light, same shader preset as Image 1, (I did turn the Opacity on the Deault templates parameters down to 70%) and what I get is Image 3... Shadows, everything has shadows, now mind you I have changes the character "Cast Shadows" for each and every body part on the charaacter from the 'chest lower' up, including hands and all head parts, even the bend and twist parameters were changed since they also have a 'cast shadow' parameter...
Still shadows.
So this is the thorn in my side, how do I get the character to NOT cast any shadows?
Thanks,
V

These are 3Delight shaders, I think you are rendering in Iray.
Same scene, the "phantom" setting on a same character, Opacity set to 100%...
Added a dress and set with the "Misty Blue" pwGhost shader preset, first thing I notice is it is not misty blue, 2 Whatever I need to change for shadows on character I am going to need to change on ANY clothing or prop that is a part of the "character" outfit.
Wow...
Um, okay I guess that answers that question, pretty much resolved all the issues :)
