Head morph from a 3d model

Hello everyone

I wish to consult you on a question.

I use facegen to make  genesis head morph from picture, now I wonder  is there anyway to make  head morph from a 3d head model(obj or any other 3d format)?

THX.

  • maybe somebody who owns the Sim Tenero shape reprojector can tell you if that works

Facegen does do something like that to create face morphs. The picture is first projected onto its own internal 3d head model, and that 3d model is then transferred onto the Daz 3d head model. But, that only works because I think they created an exact vertex mapping between the two 3d models.

That reprojector won't do it, because it's impossible for it to create an exact vertex mapping without specific knowledge of where the nose, eyes, chin, and mouth points are located on each model. Exact points of their locations need to be plotted. You could say it's a sloppy man's version of a head reprojector.

  • there is of course always the painfully slow way of using soft select (or proportional edit if using Blender) and reference images or a second unselectable reference mesh

    or in DAZ studio Dformers

    or morph brush in Poser
