Crazy large save files

I've done about 40 renders with a scene containing 2 characters with clothing and a few furnishings. I was noticing that the save times were getting considerably longer as I went along with my story so I checked the save files. The first few are around 24 MB and the last one is 988 Mb. I'm using the animation timeline for Dforce simulation, which is the only thing I can think of that is changing from one render to the next.

Yes, the data for a simulation takes up a lot of space - it has to track the changed position (or for an animation, positions) of each vertex in the simulated models.
Is there any way to dump that data when setting up the next render? I tried clearing the animation from the characters and the simulation from the clothing but still end up with a 1Gb save file, and the progressive growth of the save files leads me to believe that Daz isn't dumping the old data from one set-up to the next.
I would expectt hose commands to work, so I'm no sure what else you could do - you did have the items selected when using the Clear commands? If so I'd suggest opening a Technical Support ticket, with one ot two examples scenes attached, to report a possible bug.
have you tried a restart of Daz? see if that clears the cache I assume the scene is already saved so just reload it and try the next see if that helps
I tried restarting the computer and reloading the scene, but it didn't help. I ended up deleting the characters from the scene, then reloading them from their presets and re-clothing them and now the save files are back down to a reasonable size.
