USB C External Daz Lib

I know this has been brought up before but not specifically mentioning a USB-C or Thunderbolt drive. As the title says I transfered my library to the external drive in order to be able to work on things from my laptop when I was out for some time. So I transfered everything from my desktop PC library onto the external. From my Laptop I pointed Daz Studio 4.11 and 4.10 to the library on the external drive. However in both instances the library doesn't appear in the smart content or content library tabs of daz studio. I have further mapped the drive to F:/ in order to insure that it remains consistent. Installing the content through DiM seems to work, but I don't see why that would and the transfer of files wouldn't have. DiM points to F:/My Daz Library, just as Daz studio does. At this point I'm at a loss, so I'm asking for suggestions.
Oh and the laptop doesn't have a large enough drive for me to transfer the files directly onto it. I may try a seperate external drive shortly to experiment and see if it's a drive specific issue.
I have further attached images of the content directory for Daz Studio and DiM to avoid any confusion.

Unfortunately this post seems short lived. I realized that I just wasn't seeing what I was used to because things were sorted differently in the content library tab of Daz Studio on my Desktop. Loading up a scene that would have content not in my DiM, I can see now that all the files are being read just fine.
However I would like to ask if there is a way to transfer over the sorting that was in my content library on my PC to the external and thus to my laptop?
The metadata (for Content Library and Smart Content) is in the database on the computer you originally used, added when you install something. It will need to be transferred or restored on the new computer's database. As long as the relative paths for the Libraries in DAZ Studio are the same, it should all mesh perfectly.
The original metadata is all in the Runtime/Support folder (one .dsx per package or product). You might have modified some bits and pieces of metadata along the way, so you need to export that from the database to retrieve it somewhere else. In the Content DB Maintenance utility, Export User Data from the original installation, which will create one or more UserData_n.dsx files in your main library's Runtime/Support folder. Reconnect the drive to the other computer and Re-Import Metadata. You will be presented with a list of all products and your User Data. Select them all and accept. If you have a lot of stuff, it could take a while, as it has to read every .dsx file in the support folder, so be prepared to wait, or go have dinner.
If you moved stuff manually, I don't know if those changes will show when you re-import metadata, but maybe that is part of the user data. I use custom categories to organize content and let DIM put it where it wants. So much easier to deal with later.
Thank you for the response. I sucessfully followed what you were saying. It was a bit confusing having to righ click the content library tab to export / import. But none the less it worked. Thank you.
