Hello all!

I am about to install Carrara in my new Win 10 Laptop.

I own Carrara 8.1 and 8.5 pro. On my win 7 desktop I use 8.1 64 bit. I would like to install only one version on my new machine. I recall that 8.5 changed something in how the shaders function.

Is that correct? I don't want to tweek projects I've already done. So the question is should I install 8.1 64 bit or 8.5 on my new machine. Any advantages to 8.5 ?I don't use human figures so thats not much of an issue.

Is 8.5 more or less stable on Win 10. Currently 8.1 64 bit does meet all my needs.

P.S. I'm not a big fan of the download manager.

Thank You

Brad

I have both installed in different folders. Small differences that may be visible depending on the scene...

I too have both as there are other differences aside from the duf support, the soft body has a few less parameters, the FBX importer/exporter is different and sometimes one is more suited to another program than the other, the way parameters on Poser figures are displayed, and as mentioned the absence of mip mapping in 8.1
