Trying not to scream. (The only good bug is a dead bug!)

Today I reinstalled to a new hard drive. I didn't bother trying to move everything, I just went in, uninstalled, and reinstalled it. I didn't go hunting for every last folder/ini/registry setting. (I should have known better) and was hoping to escape a few bugs I was having.
For one, I cannot run clothing converters. Genesis 2 to 8, genesis 3 to 8. Genesis to Genesis 8 never did work properly, even when the interface loaded. (I'd point it to the Daz Connect folder, and after waiting FOREVER, it would then tell me that there was nothing to convert.)
Some items, though installed, show an odd icon on their thumbnail, with a "U" on it. I can't uninstal it. I can't install it.
I load a Genesis 8 female, load a Genesis 8 Male dForce wardrobe item, hit fit to, and it crashes to desktop. It fits regular gen8 clothing items. I can load the Gen8 Male dforce item to the scene just fine. But when I click "fit to" it crashes. I tested Gen8 female dForce items, and they work just fine.
I keep getting the "update" icon for products that are installed. I click update, it takes a while to process, and then nothing happens. Stil says there's an update.
I've posted about bugs before. This is getting old, fast. I've spent a lot of money for these products, and I can't use them. Understand my frustrations. I've reloaded the database. I've reloaded metadata. I've reset defaults. This shouldn't be so damn hard. If I uninstall a program, it should be eradicated from a system, and a fresh install should be free of any glitches caused by a previous install. Instead, I keep getting the same ones back, and then some new ones. If I reload database, for instance, it loses a bunch of stuff that I then have to reinstall.
It's very frustrating.
Now I've gone and bought an nVidia video card to speed up renders. Only I'm trying not to feel as if I've just been wasting money because crap don't work. I can understand maybe old genesis stuff failing, or victoria 4 crap, but no. The three different dForce items are less than a year old. The converters are all new. I've had good luck witht he gen3-gen8 converter on my laptop. I just got the gen2-gen8. The genesis-gen8 doesn't work no matter where I try it.
On top of that, certain utilities don't show up. LineRender9000, for instance.
Do I have to reinstall Windows to sort this problem out? What the heck is causing it? And please, some simple answers would be just great. My previous post on bugs after the last hard drive move got a bit cluttered up with "advice" that wasn't helpful. "Reset the CMS?" WHERE?!? Shouldn't it reset when I reinstall the damn program?
I've lost days trying to sort this crap out. I just want to sit at my computer and make some art. I've got a new book cover to do, a webcomic I'm trying to get done...
Attaching the log file. Also going to submit a report. I just want to get some work done.

UPDATE: I seem to have gotten the dForce stuff to auto-fit again. Did a DB reset. I also went into my Windows firewall and manually added an exception for Daz 3d.
Clothing converters still not working. I select a Gen8 female, double click the script, and it says "An error occured while reading the file. See log for more details." Which is why I included part of the log in the initial post.
I really want to get RAWR! working... :( (A genesis 2 clothing set that loses a lot when you auto-fit, and stretches funny, too.)
A syntax error on line 1 sounds like a corrupt file that can't even be read. Try uninstalling, make sure the files have really gone (if you right-click on the file/product before unisntalling you can use the browse to command to open a file window, then uninstall, then check the file window), and reinstall.
UPDATE #2:
Okay. I got ONE clothing converter script to load it's dialog. (Genesis 2 - Genesis 8)
I pointed it to the directory where all the Daz content is installed.
Waited.
AAAAAAAAND it popped up a dialog saying that there was no new clothing to find.
So. Then I installed a single Genesis 2 item, through DIM, to a new folder. Pointed script at this folder. It finds the item. And then it loads to the scene just fine.
Am I right in thinking that these particular scripts just don't like content installed through Daz Connect (Smart Content Panel?) I know the manual for the converters mentions connect-installed content. I think digging through the atrocious "cloud" folder for each item I want to convert would be very tiresome. And I just dug up one folder with some Genesis 2 stuff in it, only for it to tell me NO NEW CONTENT. I mean, seriously. It's right there.
This might explain why it didn't convert all my Genesis 3 items, when I had that script working before.
I guess it's a bit of a workaround, as I can install the item through DIM, convert, and then uninstall it from DIM.
Okay. Apparently the other scripts are working now. Mysteriously. They didn't work when I got the dForce stuff working. (As seen in the screenshot) Which just leaves the final frustration of it not detecting anything installed through Daz Connect.
And why some things aren't showing up to even install. (Like Daz Dragon 3 morphs, which will install the moment I load a Dragon scene where I had used them before.)
Mostly I guess this thread is venting some frustration as I slowly seem to be working through my problem with sheer determination. Or something. I still think the setup/removal process is extremely inefficient. I wonder if there are other areas where the program can be optimized better.
But hey, maybe my frustration will generate a good discussion and perhaps those of us that have experienced similar problems can share information and such or maybe just grouse. I don't know. It's 4:30 AM and I'm still working on this even though I have to be up in 4 hours to take my Mom to dialysis. Who knows, maybe the engineers at DAZ will notice and chime in.
I'm usually the sort of guy that likes to be HELPFUL on forums, rather than asking for help all the time. Honestly, I've figured out most of what I've done on DAZ through just fiddling with the program. It's just areas like this where things don't work as expected that sort of get me riled up. Especially if it doesn't give me any sort of clue as to what has gone wrong. I don't want to give people the wrong impression. But this is making me feel as if I'm not really very smart. You could say that Daz is sort of belittling me a bit. (Not cool, DAZ!)
I'm hoping to get my sig updated with some artwork in the near future. If I can get things to cooperate!
Hi Lyle, I'm glad for your post as I have had exact same issues with the RSSY conversion scripts. I just got them and am having to deside weather their keepers. I have had good luck with Riversoft and sicklyield scripts for the most part but I also do not look forward to hunting and pecking through the cloud since AI cannot get the batch folder conversion to work on connect files. I may try install/convert/uninstall with the dim like you suggest but otherwize it looks grim.
So I went for it and installed all my genesis 2 content through the DIM (left it overnight). It is now recognised by the script and is in the process of converting all! Seemed like a hastle but if it works I will be way happy. Honestly its all automated so I can't really complain... just waiting to see if the clothes actually show up like they should and fit etc... causiously hopeful...
