Transfer utility

I added a Michael4 figure to my scene. I applied some muscle morphs.
I loaded some pants designed for M4. They didn't fit the morphed figure.
I did the "Fit to Michael4" and "Transfer active morphs".
The morphed muscles still poked through the pants.

I took Michael4 and the pants to Hexagon using the bridge.
I froze M4 and then sculpted the pants to fit him.
I took the pants back to DS using the bridge.

This is where it gets confusing.

I had the pants in a scene alone (the result of sending them to DS via the bridge).
So, I opened a new scene with my morphed M4 with no pants.
I used "Merge" to combine the pants and my M4. They fit him perfectly.

I tried to use the transfer utility to get the joint information from M4 into the pants so they would move with him when I pose him.
In the transfer utility, in the Source and Target boxes, there are "Scene Item" selection. Both of these contain "None" and "Pants" as the only choices.

I found another thread that talked about only being able to use the transfer utility on a scene item after exporting it as an object and the importing that object. I tried that, and I still only get "None" and "Pants" for my options for Scene Item.

What am I missing?

I watched a video on Youtube about using the transfer utility for just this purpose, and it looked so simple. However, that was for an early version of DS 4.0. Maybe things have changed since then.

You only need to SAVE your new Morph for the Pants as A morph in the Pants. Then you could Dial the new Morph in when you use them on your Morphed M4 Figure.

The Transfer Utility is for TriAx figures, like Genesis and the DAZ Horse 2. It doesn't support legacy figures like Michael 4. If the morph didn't load as a morph it sounds as if you did something to change the vertex order - did you add or remove anything in Hexagon?

I did not use a morph on the pants. I simply sculpted them to fit in Hex and then sent them back to DS. In DS, they fit my M4 figure perfectly, but apparently were no longer an article of clothing. I could not make them move with the figure as I posed him. I had the same problem with some pants that I made in Hex from scratch to fit him.

I did not add or remove anything in Hex.

I will check some tutorials on morphs and see if I can create a morph for the pants. If I can save my sculpting as a morph, then that would solve the problem.

    Thanks.
