Which UV's does Kids 4 use?

Is there any way to convert KIds 4 textures to Genesis and then convert the Genesis version to Genesis 2? I'm asking because Virtual_World's Kid's 4 children of the world set is in Fast Grab and it would be cool if they could be used on child morphs created from Zevo's Growing Up sets. Alternatively can anyone point me to nice childlike texture sets?

I'm thinking I might like to create kid's clothing pieces but I'm definitely not comfortable doing promo images using adult textures on children.

I think they have their own UVs since Genesis comes with a separate K4 UV preset in the surface options. Not sure if you can get them onto G2F at all. There is the texture transfer util, but I've only had bad luck with that thing.

...ahh, you beat me to the punch. Just checked and all Gen4 characters come up showing "Default UVs"

Tried one trick but didn't work Thought I could save a K4 map as a .duf materials preset on Genesis and then load it on a child version of G2F but without a Kids4 clone for G2F, cannot get the correct UVmap so the texture doesn't load properly.

K4 has it's own UV map the same as V4 and M4. However, you can remap K4 to take either V4 or M4 textures as well as remap V4 and M4 to take K4 textures.

There isn't a K4 shape in the iconic shapes. I can't remember if Autofit has a K4 clone but I believe GenX has a K4 clone. My brain is currently mush from staring too long at our current project and I can't remember off the top of my head if the projection template needs just the clone or the shape.

    Apologies for self-insertion

But Basic Child is very close to Kids4, IIRC.

It does. Genesis came with V4, M4 and Kids 4 clones.

...never could get that to work quite right. All I get is a total jumble of all the UV maps mashed together in a single window. Expanding the window's size doesn't separate them, but only expands the entire image.

Okay, Genesis does have a K4 Clone and the option in surfaces to use K4 UV's. I'm thinking children's clothing will best be done in Genesis original anyway........more versatility and of course can always be autofit to Genesis 2. If anyone has a wish list for children's clothing that would be enhanced by the draping morphs I do in my sets please let me know! Now I'm gonna go buy...............

If you have time to explain how this is done I would certainly appreciate it!

You can use DS's "Map transfer" to convert textures from one uv to another.. so you convert the k4 to v5 uv:

I think some info is here:

    http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/29619/

You basically apply the texture to genesis then with the surface tab selected, You'll choose 'map transfer option from the menu button at the top of the tabs.

Don't select the whole texture at one time... for instance select all the materials for the head, torso, etc.

This will create the textures, and you can put them back to together to make your material duf file.
