daz install manager opens hundreds of browser windows

Next saga for me. I haven't touched a setting. (Not that I am aware of). DIM was working fine. I purchased some stuff today, and from the order page (as I've dome hundreds of times) I hit the green button "download and install.

Suddenly, there are dozens of browser windows opening. I closed everything down, rebooted the computer, tried again. Same thing. When it hit 600 or so browser windows opened (in about 2 minutes) I shut it down again.Tried a couple of more times. Tried downloading a different order. Same result.

Any suggestions?

    Might be a setting in the browser changed?

    Didn't change any browser settings that I know of. I have also now tried with antivirus disabled. Still opening windows. This time I let it go for a while. When it hit 3000 windows open I shut it down.

    Something seriously wrong here - the only time I've ever seen DIM open a browser tab or window is when the little 'i' in the circle is clicked on - and I just selected everything I own, then clicked on the 'i' for an item - and that opened just the one readme for that one item. What web site or file are the windows trying to get to?

    I don't know, as I haven't been able to stop the process and look at a window. It never stops opening them.I also tried uninstalling and reinstalling DIM. Same result. Whether DIM is already open, or not, when I click on install items, it happens. Interestingly, I noticed that my latest order items were all listed as "ready to download," except for Ivan 7 package. I was able install those through DIM, rather that from the product purchase page in DAZ. Also, now, DIM will not let me log into my account "Unable to login to specified account. Verify username and password are correct." Which I did. Made sure that cap locks weren't on. Uninstalled DIM again and reinstalled and tried again. I can log into DAZ account fine online, just not through DIM.

    This also after shutting down computer and restarting. So it's not something stuck in RAM.

    Weird. Any ideas?

    Also, now cannot log in to DAZ through Studio pro, and as previously stated, DIM won't let me log in. Can log in only through web browser

    that sounds awfully like a virus

    I can log into DIM from my laptop. Will go searching for virus. Any known issues with Bitdefener compatability?

    halfway through full system scan - no virus. Don't think that's it, but will continue with scan

    sound like a virus passed on your system
    not a real virus but a "bomber" (automated malicius script) 
    bomber change user parameters on the main system "registry" and prepare your system to accept "future" virus from non secure or warez download site! 
    wiht a simple click on a banner who ask you "press ok to continue"
    he can also affect your antivirus ! so he can't find it when you scan your system
    better scan with another "online scan" antivirus (google "Housecall online scan")

    tips:
    - never download from non secure sites with "administrator" rights 

    possible solution to fix the problem
    - check on parameters  "default applications"
    a simple action is to "inisialize" Default applications,  that use could be save your day 

    - another simple way, roll back to a previous system state "restoration point". 

    just check and pray :-)
