Clothing has messed up uv maps upon export to 3DXchange

I wasn't sure whether to post this here or on the Reallusion forums, but things seem more active here. Basically, I have a figure, Darsel for Genesis 8, with the Tactical Assault Outfit equipped. When I try to export him to 3DXchange to bring into iClone, the figure itself imports just fine with all the right textures, but the clothing textures don't seem to have loaded the uv map correctly and are all scrambled: https://imgur.com/T3DJC4V

If anyone has any insight on how I can solve this that would be amazing. Do I need to set up the uv maps differently before exporting? Combine the geometry? Any help would be much appreciated!

that is the u wrap feature of DAZ studio

only way I know to fix it on props is DSON loader in Poser or untick U in UV wrap in Carrara

as to figures I have no idea, been several threads no answers other than the content is MADE TO WORK IN DAZ STUDIO

    which is less than helpful

Poser could export an obj to use in 3DXchange UV swap though if you want to try that

Hmm well that's annoying. I don't actually own Poser or Carrara, so not sure what my options are. Is there no way to fix this without owning either of those programs?

a user in my thread says Blender should be OK

So I could potentially export the prop clothing to Blender, then re-export from Blender back to Daz and potentially replace the geometry? Has anyone attempted to do this before that you know of? Thanks so much for the help

yeah i don't know as I use Carrara and Poser to fix this but presumably it would

You say the figure, which uses UDIMs, is importing correctly and it's the clothing which isn't. UDIMs should not be a problem anyway, they are taking advantage of an existing feature (UVs beyond the unit square have always wrapped) to allow applications which are set up to support them to separate maps that stack.

I don't haev the outfit, but is the issue that the UVs are messed up or only that the maps aren't tiling (assuming that they do in DS)?

That's a good question, I'm not actually sure. It seems like there are UV maps for the outfit coming through, but they aren't the right scale or something. The outfit uses a single texture for all the different clothing and accessories, with different maps for each piece.

Also you may try using the texture atlas inside DS before exporting. This way 3DX has a simpler layout to work with.
