Putting ads into my mouth.

What the heck is going on with the forums embedding advertisements into our posts? This is the first time I've seen it doing that (I'm browsing on Chrome today as opposed to Firefox). It's one thing to have banner ads between posts that are clearly advertisements but it's another thing altogether to have keywords in my post turned into links to an ad so it looks like I'm the one spamming the forum with ads.

Not cool! Not cool at all!

If I recall correctly from posts similar to this here and on other boards it means you have some spyware or similar on your computer.

Just checked with Firefox and it's not happening. Something must be taking advantage of a loophole in Chrome. Grrrrr.....

    yeah, not happening with Firefox.

Remember, Chrome is the spawn of the big Google. I think they still make most of their money on the advertising model. It started with the search-engine and continues today with "All Things G", including Gmail, Google+, and I would imagine Andoid and Chrome.

One of the things I didn't like about my Android phone was the apps included by my carrier; marketing based apps that were not uninstallable without rooting the phone. That annoyed me to no end, because I still had to upgrade those apps and respond to nuisance prompts even though I didn't use them.

Apple doesn't do that. Yes, Apple tracks me with more stealth and silence, but at least they don't annoy me!

FireFox (Not Responding) is still my browser (Not Responding) of choice, but every now (Not Responding) and then it starts acting up and (Not Responding) I have to switch to Chrome. Although when I'm on my (Not Responding) tablet I prefer Chrome over FireFox for Android.

I haven't had any ads and as a PC member I expect it to stay that way :)
Freezing occurs more with Chrome then with Firefox on my system, but I have to admit that Firefox also has a tendancy to freeze every now and then.

    Hello Ghastly,

I am not seeing any ads on my end....maybe because I have AdBlock Plus installed. Do you have that extension installed? I am also using a browser that is I think like Google Chrome called Comodo Dragon browser and have less crashes than I did with firefox and the regular Google Chrome. Hope this helps a little :-). Been using this browser for a couple of years now. AdBlock Plus is one of the first things I install when I get a new browser :-).

    Don't be Evil...

...because it reduces the selling price when Evil gets around to buying you out.

Somehow Chrome got infected with SaveShare.

Easy enough to uninstall. Look for the program which is just a long string of random text and delete all the unwanted extensions from Chrome.

This is why i like FireFox with NoScript.
