Fine tuning a pose

Hi all, I have applied a fashion pose to G8F and have gone move an arm and the control is no longer available as there a way of getting this back or has the applied pose limited further tweaking?

    Not sure I understand. There are several ways to move a part of a figure, the universal tool which has no precision and is just a general movement tool. Then there is the node selection tool, whick allows you to select a body part and then you can use either the rotator gizmo in the upper left hand corner, or use the dials in the paremeters tab for more precise movemnt. If a body part will not move further, it could be because limits are on (I always leave them on)

  • Thank you that was a great help, I selected the activate pose tool and that sorted the problem for the part I wanted to move :D

    You can also apply your own "controls" to some degree, by adding a "pin" to the head, neck and shoulders say, or to one or both hands, or feet. This can aid in preventing accidental movement. Another way is incremental saves - "filename-x comma here I started moving the arm", followed by "filename x2 arm moved some more at 1915h", that sort of thing.

    For REALLY fine-tuning save the camera preset (I personally refer to these as camera *RESETS*) and then ZOOM IN REALLY CLOSE. Merge the camera preset file back into your scene -- this restores the exact position of the camera -- and do a quick render, or you could even render a few iterations while you are zoomed in. When you're or you feel you've tweaked enough, "reset" the camera and start your first test render.

    Note that it is possible to get over-excited or enthusiastic to the point where you have muddled the pose and the shader settings and so on; sometimes it's best to slow down and perhaps make detailed notes to yourself, recording what you did.

    For example in the sequence below I moved posed and re-posed and twisted the figure (Lorenzo Lorez) so much that he got completely out of shape and his suit didn't fit - trouble spots are marked with white arrows.  Rather than go back to try and do a fix I went ahead and rendered, and I cleaned the render up a bit in an image editor. Once it was re-sized and placed in context -- actually really small, for use in the masthead on a test PHPbb installation -- you can hardly tell.
