Manual Install

I was wondering about a manual install of DAZ Studio 4.10.

If I download and install DAZ Studio without using the Install Manager, do I need the second download, Default Resources, shown below?

Or is the Default Resources package optional?

DAZ Studio 4.10 (Win 64-bit)

Default Resources for DAZ Studio 4.9+

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Technically, I suppose that it is possible to install DAZ Studio without the Default Resources, but I haven't done it myself. The problem is that those default resources are essential components for the proper use of many of the lighting and shading features of DAZ Studio. Is there some particular reason why you don't want to install them? Otherwise, you should. The only reason that they are for DAZ Studio 4.9, BTW, is because they haven't changed with the updates to 4.10. If you already had a previous installation of DAZ Studio, they would already be in your content library, so DIM wouldn't re-install them. If that's the case, a manual re-install wouldn't be required either.

It's not that I don't want to install them, it's just that I didn't know if it was necessary because I didn't know what the resources were. 

I will definitely download and install the resources.
