DS content HDD> SSD

I just ordered 3 new SSDs and I'm planning to migrate everything from my 3 old HDDs to them. I currently have an HDD with an E partition where all my DS content is (for DS2, DS3 & DS4), although the program files are all on C (also an SSD).

My question is, if I name a new SSD 'E' and copy over all my content to it, will it all still open normally? I would think so, but I'm wondering if there are any oddities in either DS or Windows (7) that I don't know about.

TIA

The content will work properly after a little juggling. You will need both drives mounted to transfer the content, but they can't have the same drive letter (E:). Rename the old drive to something else (Z: ?, it's only temporary anyway) and assign the new drive the old letter E, then copy everything. When you remove the old drive, you will no longer have to worry about whatever letter it was, and the content is still on E: where DS expects it to be.

The library contents and metadata are relative to the base folder, so you can relocate it anywhere easily by just changing the mapped folder in Daz Studio with Content Directory Manager, like, if only the drive letter changes, or you change part of the path above the library root.

Thanks. That's how I figured it should work. I just wanted to double-check.

As for the drive letters, that's not an issue. I'll disconnect the 3 HDDs first, then install the SSDs and assign partitions/letters. I have a hot-swap port which windows denotes as X(original drive letter), so I can put the HDDs in one at a time and copy everything over.

I'm also getting an M2 SSD for the OS, which should be really fast. I plan to use 1 sata SSD for work, one for storage, and the 3rd for backup, plus a monthly backup to one of the old HDDs. They're 10,000 rpm Velociraptors, so it should take too long. But I'm looking forward to having nothing but SSDs on the machine.
