Okay so here is my original Dark Fae using Genesis. I added a small amount of lighting because I wanted it to be dark . . . but not bereft of lighting as it was earlier. Genesis figure, woodlands, fairy outfit with colors changed and a distant light as well as one spot. Both are set to less than 100% and the spot is grey instead of white. I used the Rapture skin

This one is me trying to get a few things down for a bigger project. Maruader suit and armor, recolored some shaders added, smoke was added with a torus and a plane using the ubersmoke shader to give the feeling of just fired weapon. Pose is mine and weak . . . having trouble with that. Mage's tower is the scene. Distant light and 1 spot on him. Looking for a way to show active firing, wafting smoke (instead of the square) Tried a couple of different things that were epic fails. Want a flechette look out of the barrel.

Looks great so far... very promising.

Here is a few adjustments made to firing into the tower. Smoke is a little further out and less dense. Still can't find a way to make it appear to be firing.

IF you want your weapon to look like it's firing, you need to add a Muzzle Flash.

Yeah, I agree with Tramp Graphics, some muzzle flash will fix it right up. You can add the one linked to earlier, or if adding it in postwork you can use these muzzle flash images, using Photoshop or some other image editor.

One thing you can do is add a point light right at the tip of the gun and color it appropriately to add in some light and shadow from the gun blast, too.
