Hi!

Short questions: Are the birds and circadias from Polygonal Miniatures rigged or static objects?

Best wishes

Moved to Technical Help as it was a question, not a Product Suggestion.

General rule of thumb I've seen with Polygonal Miniatures is that if they call it a "prop", like the birds and cicadas, it is static. If they call it a "figure", like the crab, it is rigged.

Another clue with the birds, that is more general, is that you don't see any promo shots with the wings outstretched. Normally if someone creates a rigged bird figure, they like to show off how the wings and feathers look when the bird is in a flying pose. If I were to see a bird item that only has one pose in all the promo shots, I would assume it was a static prop unless the description said otherwise.

    Hi JonnyRay,

Couldn't have said it better myself. I spend most of my time scanning and building scanners to create miniatures. I don't have much time for rigging, so most of my products are static. But photorealistic static :)

Sometimes I don't need a figure to pose, I just need a bird or a bug to add some "flavor" to my image or maybe an orchid to stick in a girl's hair (or a man's beard, equal opportunity adornments). :) And all of your products are high quality and priced very well for what you get.
