Wondering if my new lap top will work with DS

I got new lap top HP EliteBook 8470p i5 3320M Vpro 2,6ghz 14.1 inch display, 8gb ddr3 ram HD 240GB SSD and intel HD 4000 Graphic Card.

 

I am interested how good will DS work on it and should I use it for rendering. I have older desktop that works good with DS but was thinking to use this one too after reading this article, for now I am ready to use Bryce on it as I think that is ok.

 

Can someone tell what should I do please, as I don't have that much experience and before I was advised not to use lap tops for serious rendering?

    Thje laptop will only render iray on the CPU which will be very slow. Even in 3Delight it won't be a terrifically good render rig as that's a pretty weak CPU.

    Why are you assuming it wouldn't work? DS is not exactly picky when it comes to getting the program to run on modern hardware.

     

    Now, if you want to know whether it will render well on it - nope. But the program itself will have no problem running on it.

    Ok, thanks for the answers, I will have to get new desktop then :)
