yet another product that is DS only. I nearly popped it in my cart before I noticed.
Pity.

DSON won't work for a static scene?
Me too, I nearly bought it by mistake...
It is a shame, I would have loved it.
This was announced in the preview thread.
I see, no Poser material. I fear this will become more common over time. Guess we can't expect every artist to be fluent in two formats. Fortunately I can use Daz Studio, but it is indeed a shame such a beautiful model can't be used in Poser, too.
From the Commercial thread
Which is actually an odd statement for this PA because only his last four releases are not Poser compatible.
hence the words "Recent" and "Future" or you find it odd that these last 4 aren't Poser compatible
I can get it into poser, but there can be lights and cameras missing from a scene too, and I have had stuff from daz that was DS only where the materials didn't work at all like the mage staff. just looks kind of whitish in poser.
So i prefer to buy native poser content.
I would definitely have put it straight in my cart if it had been for poser as well as DS.
Well...
Welcome to my world when I shop at anyplace besides Daz. I often buy sets and such from Renderosity or RuntimeDNA that are Poser only and have to write off the lights and cameras and tweak material settings.
I think that we all have the option to leave the pack in the store if we are not sure that it will work correctly in our favourite software. It is the same for DS and Poser users and the final result is just less money in the vendors wallet.
Yep. I really need to want something a whole lot before I buy Poser only. These days it is less and less.

I think that it might become the same for me in the future but with DS only stuff.
I have gotten pretty good at 'fixing' textures for poser only items and I have enough light sets as it is. Camera angles I always do my own. So generally, if it is a high quality set I buy it even if it is for poser only and just do my tweaks. The point of my post was basically just 'it happens' and not meant to put down these people, more meant as "I feel your pain, just from the other direction."
I usually look at the quality of the mesh and the details included, which this definitely has, and then do whatever tweaks to the mats that are required, depending which program it'll be used in. I regularly use both Poser and DS. So be it poser only or DS only if its a good looking useful set the "specific program only" proviso wont stop a purchase. Xurge armor is a good example. Well worth the extra effort required to get it working in both programs.
That is exactly what I do FirstBastion though I also look to see if poser only sets use pz2 or if they use mc6 since the later won't load at all in Daz. If it is the latter I usually skip it. I could probably still manually load all the textures but it just doesn't seem worth it most of the time.
I do not mind buying sets that are DS compatible only but I just fear that this one is more complicated to use in Poser than the three previous ones.
I will anyway certainly buy this new pack and see the result in Poser. I also try to use DS but it is a bit more complicated than Poser since I am not used to it...
I also understand what you were meaning with the DS or Poser only items and I agree with you, Riggswolfe, it was effectively just to say that it was the same for everybody when something is not completely compatible with the software used.
I also agree that the most important is the quality of the mesh and of the textures because we can always try to improve the look of the textures in our respective software.
W. :)
i go to the store new release with the poser (core) filter on http://www.daz3d.com/new-releases?compat_software=31
right now it's 32 Item(s) - 32 out of - 114.
the slide show banner lets me see, what i don't see, lol.
I also get 32 Poser compatible items...
