How to change the rendered background from black to white

Here is the screen shot of the image I was rendering, and the  completed image, as a .jpg file.

What can I do, in DAZ Studio, to change the black background to white?

Thank you in advance for your help.

You can add a solid-colour (or mapped) backdrop via Window>Panes(Tabs)>Environment - just set the type to backdrop, set the colour, and if desired add a map by clicking the button to the left of the colour bar. You can also save as PNG or Tiff, which will apply an alpha channel/transparency, and then insert a coloured fill layer behind the image in your image editor. I prefer the latter as it gives more flexibility, but either should yield the desired result.

The black is what you get from transparent backgrounds when saving as a jpg. If you want to retain the transparency, save as a png. For a plain white background, the easiest way is to change it in the Environment tab. Click on the Type drop-down list (should be the only thing there, if you have nothing set) and select Backdrop. You can change your colour and/or use a picture (which will get squished to fit the shape of your render aspect).

    D'oh. Ninja'ed again.

    Richard and NorthOf45,

Thank you both for your invaluable advice!  I've printed out this thread, and will keep it handy!
