Painting textures on the model directly?

Hello,
i wanted to ask if there's a way or a software that could allow me to directly paint or edit textures on "genesis 8 male" for an example.
since the unwarapped UVs will take a lot of trail and error if i wanna paint a tattoo that goes through several parts.
Thank you!

Paid Zbrush, 3D coat, Blacksmith 3D
free Blender, Sculptris
and in a pinch Carrara but its not terribly precise
oh i do use Zbrush in a regular basis! i just didn't know i can use GoZ to also edit UV maps and send them back to DAZ!
Thank you!
I don't think you can use GoZ to pass texture maps to Zbrush. Best 3D painting softwares are the ones that are made for that purpose: painting maps on 3D objects. Allegorithmic Substance Painter and The Foundry Mari. They are expensive, but I think there is an educational version of Mari for free.
I don't use GoZ but an obj export without the UDIM mapping collapsed will produce a perfectly good mesh you can subdivide and paint on in Zbrush with polypaint brush then use the multi map exporter plugin to export your textures
thank you! i will be trying to get a free trial for Substance Painter!
aye! thank you very much!
