I would say it does some things differently than the skin overlay product. I think the skin overlay product is a little more gristle-ish and perfect for that leathery burned away all the fat of someone who has worked hard all their life while is looks to me more like that hyper vascularized bodybuilder look. On any case, here is a picture:
Thanks for your thoughts and the render.
When I add this to my character, the character looks too plastic. Is there a way to get rid of the plastic look?
First question is what texture are you using it on? It has to be a true M5 texture and not an M4 UV on Michael 5... I would then check the specularity of your original texture; otherwise it can act as decal on a glossy surface. Next try the various pieces... bump alone, color alone, and finally, the type of light, uber enviroment, is important....
It's the MRL Gabi texture for V4 from Renderosity. That's my favorite texture. Other textures just don't look right to me. The character I'm using it on is Genesis 1.
I pulled out Gabi, dressed her to keep this G rated, used the Add Veins product and one of the Lantios lights sets. I'm not sure I see the gloss.
I wrote that way too quickly... the product only only works with v5 and m5 textures... no v4 textures...the glossiness is due to the mismatch of UV's.
