Can't rename my CMS categories.

After migrating to a new computer with my Library at a different path, and re-loading my metadata, I can no longer rename any of my categories. It seems reloading the metadata and all that has converted my user categories (used to have a "U" in their icons) to non-user categories.
Can I get the ability to rename my user categories back?

Old problem, still no real solution that I have heard of. Discussed this very issue a while ago: Can't edit my own categories after re-importing metadata on new computer
Assuming they are outside the Default branch, say MyCategories, make a new one at the same level, and copy all the sub-branches then delete the old read-only one. You can rename the new one back to the old name. Copying will take a little while if you have a lot of stuff.
