Question about Add Some Veins

I am dubbing to get it because it states it's for M5 and V6 but I am vouching for the new M6 at the moment and wanting to invest in that.
Will there perhaps be a M6 vein add-on to this package or a separate one, or none at all?
Comments
Yes there will be a Michael 6 veins product although probably not immediately after launch and it will take advantage of HD morphs technology that wasn't available when this product was created. Remember that when the product states Michael 5 UVs that means it works with Michael 5 textures but Michael 6 can use Michael 5 textures so you will be able to use this version of Add Some Veins with Michael 6 as long as you use Michael 5 textures (ie Phillip, Dave, etc.)
Oh that is good to know SimonWM...nice product too btw.
Thank you, I've been wanting to do this product for years. Finally got enough reference plus a photo shoot with a professional bodybuilder to get this done right.
Hmmm....I already finished Vascularity HD morphs set, but I don't want to clash with other PA's, so I won't release mine then anywhere close to yours. I'll put mine on hold then, or might just scrap it all together.
Awesome, in the cart it goes!
Funny, I was doing this same product when you started previewing your veins for M4, even mentioned it on the phone with Chris Creek (he was still with DAZ) at the time and I decided to shelve it for that same reason. So later decided to do it for Genesis but its your decision Zev.
But like my product says in its description "No two human beings have the same vein map." so if you decide to publish it I would buy mine and yours if I was a customer. (I might be too optimistic.) Just like different texture characters, different vein maps only give two characters in a scene more realism and character. In fact the Add Some Veins product has approx. 5 different vein maps (full body designs). I love the added detail the vein maps gives characters.
Go for it:) I have other things I need to finish anyways:) If I decide to release, it wont be anywhere close to your time frame. But for now I shall shelve it.
Please do release at some point - morphs are UV-independent, for oen thing, and as Simon says having different sets is useful if multiple figures in a scene need them. I'd be happy with tow or three products of thsi type to mix and match from.
I want to also ask for morphs, especially Genesis ones. What I'm finding hard to use about current vein products, is that they are UV dependent. It makes sense but because I don't have favorite textures as it is, and never know beforehand which skins I'll end up using, either I need to buy a Zev0's bundle to get full Gen4/Genesis support (which is a very nice product but also not easy on my wallet), or I'm limited to Genesis UVs with SimonWM's product.
HD technology just came out. As a bodybuilding enthusiast myself I'm very interested in figures that display accurate vein maps so HD Veins morphs is a very personal project for me and unless someone comes up with a product that covers all the bases I plan to release my version. (Not right away cause right now I need to finish dynamic clothes work I'm doing with another PA.) Bump maps although restrictive to UVs have the ability to work in 32 bit DAZ Studio and in some cases be less resource intensive.
As I also always strife for reality in my renders, an extra vein set will be much welcomed.
Well you know me Zev0 I will buy yours anyway. Simon is correct in that I will be buy both for the reasons given. Hell given both a LIE I could even mix them up a little so for me more the merrier.
Zevo i wish yours was out so i could compare, don''t really see myself buying both, but never know.
I do have a question though, I don't use LIE since i render in Lux and Octane, so these are just maps i can apply as displacement for other apps, correct?
BTW thanks for supporting genesis 1 since i have no interest in anything genesis 2.
Is there a way to adjust the strength separately on different parts of the body? In the real world they may be very visible on the arms and hands for example, while hardly visible on the torso.
Manually you can apply to any V5,V6 and M5 textured character in any renderer. They are PNG so they will layer on top of your character BUMP in LIE but if you want to apply as a regular bump just save as a single layer JPG in an image editor (photoshop, gimp, etc). But Luxrender works with LIE and as far as I know Octanerender too. Octanerender might need more tweaking.
The easiest almost one click solution that will be able to best take advantage of all the pose controls I'm including will of course be 3Delight.
PLEASE be sure to check the enclosed Illustrated PDF readme which helps understand how to best use the product.
They are limited by the surface groups. But for Michael 5 UVs the product includes extra separate sets for torso (waist up including arms) and legs (from the waist down) since men tend to be more veiny than women (unless the women are bodybuilders).
You might be able to fine tune to that level by going into LIE and diminishing opacity or taking the PNG into an image editor and lower the opacity of the single veins you don't want.
PLEASE be sure to check the enclosed Illustrated PDF readme which helps understand how to best use the product.
Sorry if this question is out of place in this conversation, but I am new to Daz and need some info on Add Some Veins. I just down loaded the DAZ Studio Pro 4.6 application wiith all that entails. Today I bought V6 and I want to get Add Some Veins to use on my V6. I am looking at the requirements and it states that M5 Elite Skin Texture is required. I do not have Michael 5, so does this mean that I have to buy M5 and M5 Elite Skin Texture just to use ASV's on V6 or can I just get the Elite Skin Texture? I am confused on what I need?
That's only if you want to use them with Michael 5, if you use Victoria 6 you are all set.
Whew! Okay thank you. I am working with a budget and trying to buy only what I absolutely need right now. In time I will add more stuff, hopefully.
I know how that is. Glad to help. :)
Add Some Veins are bump and displacement maps and therefore can work the UV mapping it was created for. Maximum Vasculum is an HD morph set for both Genesis 2 Female and Genesis 2 Male and will work with any UV mapping.

Maybe not too optimistic. Here is one customer that both both of your sets, Add Some Veins and Veins HD for Genesis 2. I also bought Zev0's Vascularity. And then I bought RawArt's Maximum Vasculum.

I have to confess I have both Zev and Raws product myself. I use mine mostly. Veins always have a characteristic bluish color different from the flesh around them and you can't get that from the Zev and Raw products since they are only morphs with no diffuse(color) map for the veins. Yes the diffuse is limited to the character UVs but it makes up in realism. I'm planning on a future vein product that will get rid of the UV limitation of the color layer.
In conclusion all 4 products have their pros and cons. The more the tools the more the options.
Guys, I have V6 and just downloaded "Add Some Veins" to use with V6 Belle. I also have the HD Vein Morphs for Genesis 2. Problem is I cannot get either one of them to work. The instruction pdf that comes with Add Some Veins, talks about using Phillip textures and adjusting the Bump Strength. I've tried adjusting Bump Strength on V6. Then tried on her hands, arms and neck separately and nothing happens. I was told that you do not need M5 textures if you have V6, so is there something I need to download or a video or file somewhere that gives some instructions on how to use these morphs? I have watched the HD Genesis vein Morphs vid on You Tube and tried it but it crashed my Daz app. I know I am doing something wrong, trouble is I don't have a clue what?
Add Some Veins is a set of materials, not a morph product. You need to apply the base texture, assuming it uses the supported mapping, then in the Content Library go to DAZ Studio Formats>your content directory>\Presets\Materials\Layered-Images\Add Some Veins\Victoria 6 and add the preset you want - one of those starting Loads to get the actual maps, then one of the _0 settings to adjust strength if needed. The effect won't show until you render.
Well first you are doing something right, you are using Victoria 6 with the Belle Texture with Add some Veins. Do not try to use Veins HD with Victoria, it will only work with Genesis 2 Males.
Now you need to be loading the Bumps which creates the veins when you render. You will only see the vein colors before rendering.
Now after you render you will see the veins on the skin surface plus their bluish tint. If you have selected the icon that reads "Loads 0.4Bump&Color;" after you render you should have similar results to my picture below.
Now you can give it more strength to the veins by double clicking the icon with the full red bar at the top (Again those 5 icons control the strength of the vein effect in the skin). And your render will look like mine below and Victoria 6 will look more veiny. Hope this helps.
Thank you so much, that is exactly what I need. :-)
Thank you so much for getting me on the right path. Wanted to let you see just a quick sample of what i was able to do after your intructions. Again thank you.
