Your New Program Is Hard to Use.

Hi THere,

I've been using DAZ3D since I was 16, since 2007. I've seen all its changes that it's gone through. And I don't like the latest version.

First, you need to bring back the Reload buttons for new content, I can't find them anywhere. Second, you need to maintain backwards compatibility for all my older figures. 3rd, I don't need to be babied around by your instruction junk. I'm a grown-up, I've been using computers since they were 33mhz, I can find certain buttons just fine. It's the hidden buttons that I need help with.

Please fix your interface by going back to old one. This new one is almost unusable.

Thank you!

First, you need to bring back the Reload buttons for new content, I can't find them anywhere.
I'm not entirely sure which function you mean, but if you meant the refresh of newly added content so it will show without exiting and reloading DS it is done like that: right click on the folder you've added content into or a folder one level above if you add a new folder and select Refresh. It will show new thumbnails, new folders and everything.

Second, you need to maintain backwards compatibility for all my older figures.
Umm...my M3 seems to work just fine, what sort of problems are you facing?

3rd, I don't need to be babied around by your instruction junk.

Delete or move away folder called "guide pages" (which should have folders inside called something like DzCameraPane, DzLightPane, etc). I think "guide pages" folder is in Resource folder somewhere. You can make a quick search within DS, there is only one section like that.
Tutorial video strip can be turned off by unchecking the option in top menu bar Window -> Workspace -> Enable Video Strip

Which ones? I mean, can you list specific functions you need to unhide?

Go to top menu, Window ->Workspace -> Select Layout and select City Limits
Go to top menu, Window -> Style -> Select a Style and select Darkside
It will give you a very similar layout and UI like in DS 3 (and by extention DS 2 and DS 1, because they were almost the same), and you can very much customize it from here by using F3 (for customize Workspace) and/or moving panes around as you wish. My layout is 99% identical to what I had in DS 3 where last 1% are newly added functions.

Thank you for the help! But, the 'refresh' button needs to be more visible, i still can't hardly find it. Go figure. Ok, backwards compatibility is fine.

I think, Refresh now is a function tied to the content structure itself, so if you need to refresh just part of your huge content folders (I presume you have huge content folders as you are long-standing DS user; apologies if I presumed wrong) you can do it faster by refreshing only a part of content folders where there were changes rather than with a button that would refresh all content folders very slowly. I always use right-click option because I don't need to refresh on fly that often or that much but maybe there is a dedicated Refresh button I just don't know about.

Not everything is that bad, right? ;)
When DS 4 came there was a lot of unhappy people, because new UI was very big and clunky for people who got used to tight elegant DS 3 UI, but after DAZ3D added Darkside and City Limits, it is pretty much a solved issue. There are some differences but nothing as glaring as default DS UIs and workspaces.

The only most annoying feature that DAZ3D stubbornly refuses to give us an customizable option for, is "What do I do?" extremely annoying feature, but luckily there is a workaround.
