From XPS to G2

I'm gotten used to making and posing Genesis 2 figures but, recently, I've been interested in posing models from video games. XNALara seems like a nifty system but I'm more comfy using DAZ, and it seems there has to be some "middleman" like Blender to do some trick with textures before importing to Studio. Is there some way to just give these humanoid shapes a skeleton of joints to pose like any of the Genesis figures? How exactly would one go about importing and posing these characters?

You'd need to extract the "skin" of the figure and mae it a texture and appl;y it to a genesis base character. IOW a lot of work.

BTW the EULA for most if not all games forbid extracting their 3D assets for personal or commercial use. Depending on the company if they catch you they might come after you for the full boat on copyright violations. That's $50k for each violation, every render using their property would count as a single violation.

Thank you for both bits of information.

in addition, there is no way to get the game rigging to work in DS. You would have to rerig it inside DS and it would have to match the genesis figure to use their poses.

  • I know this is an old thread, but it looks like there is some way to do it. Haven't tried it myself.

the one thing to remember with this method is that once you have the XPS figure rigged, you can't share it since the rigging if from a DAZ figure, so it's only for personal use. I know that most in the XPS community are all about sharing what they rip which is why I brought it up.
