More Cybernetic Creatures

Some of the most amazing must-haves I've found have been cybernetic versions of animals:

http://www.daz3d.com/robospider
http://www.daz3d.com/arachnoid-and-infiltrator-bundle
http://www.daz3d.com/war-eagle

Is anyone planning to create some more? There's a whole wealth of things out there which would be fantastic to see in robotic form: Shark, praying mantis, scorpion, crocodile, wolf, squid, stag beetles, octopi, panther, dragon, lobster... And with the Genesis Bot, if something's created for the Genesis figure, that should simply be able to auto-convert it into a cybernetic version.

Always good to see optional mounted weapons for them, too, so that they can give the appearance of espionage vehicles, transports or patrol units.

Alternatively, this was an interesting idea:

Is anyone planning to do something similar for the existing creatures for Daz? Creating cybernetic skins to give the illusion of them being robotic?

Or if anyone's searching for inspiration, the old UK 1980s Marvel 'Zoids' comic (have been told there was a Japanese interpretation, but it seems completely different) has a wealth of robotic animal-related designs:

I've long wanted a robot cat, that is realistic not toony. I do have a dog that is reasonable from rendo, but could always use more!

Someone recently did a mouse or rat for Genesis and a buyer apparently combined it with the Genesis Bot. Was quite impressive! If a rodent can be made for Genesis, I'd imagine a dog or cat should be able to.

Could be interesting to see a properly armoured or exoskeletal expansion for Daz Horse 2, however. Or even just a properly skeletal horse for horror scenes, for that matter!

This one isn't *too* toony, will it do?

Robot stuff is not easy to design the last one I did was the Bio Ripper with mestophales. The biomechanics took a month alone, but I do love robots who knows what the future could hold ;)

I keep eyeing that one... Definitely a future purchase.

Would more simplified things, like robotic insects and fish, not be easier to construct? I don't know what kind of package is used for creating models and rigging them, but would imagine that the more basic they are, the more straightforward they are to construct?

It's one of the few things I regret about transferring from Poser to Daz. It came with a good looking robotic shark for free. :)

If it loaded into poser, you can most likely load it into DAZ Studio. You might have to tweak the materials but the model themselves should load just fine. Just point D|S to your poser directory.

I would do, but only have a 500 gigabyte hard drive with a ton of other things already on it. Needed to reclaim the space! Had I known more at the time, I would've copied it into another whole directory.

Wow! Takes me right back to my 'Zoids' days!

The Marvel UK comic, that is, not the relatively stranger Japanese cartoon.

Definitely purchasing when this magnificence comes out!

Have you taken a look at Antfarm's store? He's got some decent mechanimals. Glitch and Kudiebug were some of the cuter ones I've bought lately, but he does have an Iron Monkey and more as well.

Regarding the RoboMouse, that was probably me. I went a little nuts when that Genimouse came out.

While I'm at it though, have a RoboDuck too.
