DAZ forum doesn't work with microsoft edge (RESOLVED)

hi everybody,

Today I updated to win10 from win8 (yeah I'm late) just to find out that the daz forum doesn't work anymore there. While win8 works fine. The issue seems to be that the main page of the forum doesn't work with edge. While it works with ie11.

The easy workaround is to rearch for daz forum in google. It will show you both the link to the main page and the links to the sub-forums. There you can access the sub-forums. So you don't need the main page that doesn't work.

I'm not going to open a ticket on this, since I searched the forum and I see that others already did it but daz seems not interested to fix it. Also the easy workaround I propose is not mentioned in that discussion. They simply reverted to use another browser.

I believe Edge is moving to a Chromium code-base anyway, according to reports I have seen.

Ummm...I use Edge every day with fully updated Windows 10 (I update always ASAP), and don't use a work around...I don't seem to have any problems.  Don't know what problems others may be experiencing.

I didn't either until the W10 1809 update. It's the "DAZ3D Forums" link at the top right that gives a page with headers and footers, but no forum links. Everything below that is okay.

It's not Edge though since it isn't happening to everyone.

I just run windows update trying to fix this but the issue stills there. May I ask which version and build of windows 10 are you running ? You can find it in the windows update pane. Mine is windows 10 version 1809 build 17763.

Well, I see the problem here...

    You're actually Edge.

Or you could, you know, user a broswer that isn't quantifiably terrible?

  • Even weirder.  This computer just comes up with a header and nothing else on the forums when I try to get there normally.  But if follow a link to anywhere specific (like this thread) it works fine.

It's a company computer.  My options are Edge or Internet Explorer (which handles the forums fine)

Now it seems to work fine and I didn't update anything afaik, specs in the signature. So I guess they fixed it ?

My CPU is finally being delivered today and I am going to a one browser Windows 10 install, so I guess I'll be using Edge. I want to keep this computer free of clutter creep that happens with computers after a while. Less software means less potential security flaws to worry about even though most of us aren't at high risk just from pure probability point of view but their is no sense having an extra  worry you don't need either.
