Is DSON still needed?

I've been migrating Daz to a new system and, using DIM, when I come to the DSON Importer for Poser(Win 64-bit) though, it won't.  I've only installed Poser Pro 11.1 and not Poser Poser 2014.  I own & could install 2014 but seems mostly redundant having 11.1.  Many Daz products have Ps items & they show up (with bit of hunting) in Daz but not in Poser's UI of course.  I'm really not needing to transfer between the two these days and considering just uninstalling all the Ps versions for now.

Might there be some lurking reason NOT to do this?

DSON importer is still needed to import content in .duf format in Poser. DSON importer should install to P11Pro, IIRC if DIM doesn't give you the option to configure the path for P11 Pro you can "cheat" and add the P11pro path as "PP2014" and DIM will install it to P11Pro without problem.

As for uninstalling Ps files you already have in DS, it depends on whether the content has full poser and DS version or if it's provided in poser format with DS materials (you can usually telll by looking at the size for Ps and DS files: if the DS file is much smaller then it's probably only materials).
For example V4 items will be in poser format with DS mats, so you need to keep the Poser version installed if you want to use them in DS otherwise you won't be able to load the items themselves.
If the content has full poser and DS versions then DS needs only the DS files.

If have files in Poser format installed in DS and want to use those in Poser too you could add your DS content directory as an extra Runtime in P11 pro.

Thanks Leana.  I was wondering if there was a way to tell it to install into 2011 as it doesn't give that option now.
