Reddish-pink untextured parts in some old models - clueless n00b needs help... ;)

Hey all,

I recently started to dabble in 3D again after a long break (Poser-6-long break, lol), and among the many things that I have to learn anew there are some where I do not see a logical solution.

Which does not mean there is none, hehe.

I had some old stuff lying around that I would like to use in Daz Studio 4.10.

Most work fine or I found workarounds, but some of them give me the creeps. Namely the Kubelwagen, and the R75 motorcycle with sidecar.

Some parts are untextured (see image for the Kubel, for the R75 it is mainly the sidecar), solid pink-reddish color.

In surfaces I can not find a corresponding material zone, and no matter what texture sets or iray shaders I apply to those models, the parts in question never change...

Probably missing something immeasurably stupid and basic ;)

Hope someone can point me into the right direction...

Thanks!

(there are some other textures/shaders messed up in the image, does not matter, I quickly ran the 3Dlight to Iray converter to see if it helped with the pink, it did not)

It may be that those parts use Poser Material Room materials, which won't translate into DS - I assume the motorcycle is not the oen at Daz, I know the Kubelwagen isn't here, since the R75 that is in the Daz store does have DS materials.

Kubelwagen used to be in the DAZ store, it was removed some time ago it seems, the R75 is the DAZ version, but most likely I have an older version (I do not have access to my ancient account any more, so no updates).

Thanks to you I just loaded the model again into an empty scene and found there IS a material zone for the pink stuff. Labeled 'default'. No idea how I overlooked that.

Now just have to find the right materials/textures and manually assign them. That might do the trick.

And the old R75 - probably will just buy it again if the new version works well.

  • ...yep, that solved it. Just assigned the texture for the sides to 'default' zone as well.

Not ideal, but I won't do any close-up renders of the Kubel anyways and in a slightly hazy background position nobody will notice... ;)
