LAMH vs. Catalyzer

Hello,

I've bought several animals lately, the latest purchase being the Red Fox by AM. 

Does anyone know what the difference is between the figures? Many of the animals in DAZ seem to have 3 versions, like the figures that come with the Red Fox:

1. Red Fox Catalyzer

2. Red Fox LAMH

3. Red Fox

I can't find any documentation on why there are three figures or what purpose each has (see attached photo).

Any help would be appreciated.

    Red Fox -> no fur

    Red Fox LAMH -> Fur for 3Delight LAMH (free player or Full). (Optional export as .obj for re-import and Iray texturing.)

    Red Fox Catalyzer -> Fur for Iray, with Catalyzer Plugin ($)

    I will have to look to see where I can get the catalyzer plugin.

    Note that it will only work on the animals with catalyzer presets. This covers most of the vendor's animals, but presets from other sources won't work with the catalyzer, just the regular plugin.

    Thanks AlmightyQuest. 

    This is all very confusing. 

    I'm purchasing the LAMH 2 IRAY CATLYZER on DAZ3D web site as you suggested, but not sure what a Catalyzer preset is to be honest.

    Do I use the Red Fox LAMH figure with the product?

    What is the Red Fox Catalyzer figure for then?

    I guess I have some research to do to figure this out. I hope the L2IC. comes with documentation.

    I mention this in the other thread, but the Catalyzer plugin doesn't have a script or anything like that. You will load the Red Fox Catalyzer figure, and from the Catalyzer panel you will use the render option there to get an iray render with the fur. The Red Fox Catalyzer figure is to be used with the Catalyzer, if you don't have the Catalyzer or use the render option in the Catalyzer the fur won't render (or will give an error, I don't remember which). So you use both of these together.

    Von Hobe, to get Catalyzer to work you may** need to activate it using the serial number from your account, then open Studio and click on: 'Help' then 'About Instaled Plugins'.

    ** I say may, because it's been a while since I got Catalyzer, and I don't recall if it needs to be activated. **

    Thanks. I purchased and installed it today. 

    I found the serial number under my account, so I will enter it into the DAZ Studio plugins section of Help.
