I remember not getting a point for one of the freebies, cant remember which one though.

I think all the PC freebies counted but the regular Daz Tuesday freebies did not and the big free bundle at the start did not count

What needs to be repeated is that fact that your OTHER shopping made the weekly tiers rewarding. The Mega Prize is just gravy. If you had time (not took the time, HAD the time- I know many people are time crunched) then you could go to the artists stores (neatly linked in one section) and find great products for 40-60% off AND get your tier discount on top of that. DAZ could have taken everything off sale but they DIDN'T. They let sales overlap. So overall, in the shopping aspect, I think they have widened the benefits of the sale without focusing on the Mega Prize.

Frankly, I took advantage of all the sale had to offer, and got good prices on things in my wishlist (many of these vendors don't go on sale on a regular basis) and the Mega Prize didn't determine my spending except on 2 items to get to tier 2, because of the difference in the rewards each week. ($6 vs $2, the $4 almost paid for the purchases by 80%)

I totally dislike the Mega Prize being ONE option- offer a very nice freebie for those who don't now have the money to spend, or don't want to spend it. People are cashed out!

Well for tier 2 you did get a $50 coupon and it is usable on PC and Value items. Personally, I got 49.27 free products with mine so I got it about as close as I could. I have been a member about 10 years and I buy quite a bit, but I was able to find $50 of Daz orig that I could use. I doubt if I will even use the 50% of PA since I took care of most of that last month and during the PC Sale.

I will prob use my M6 couple on one of the bundles when it is released

Yes I used the $50 on PC items, spent $1.76. I've been using the 50% off PA on PC items.

Oh, I know, I'm fairly sure I would have have bought enough each week (without blowing my sale budget, which was a lot less than usual this year) to hit tier 2 at least three times... IF I'd been new to the store and didn't already have a lot of the bundles, and... IF I'd been interested in Genesis 2. I wasn't either, and my reduced budget meant a lot of good stuff went into my wishlist for later, instead of into my cart and bumping my points score.

No complaints about the tier 1 Megaprize, either, although I'll never use the bundle coupons; the other bits are good enough. I just hope I can find enough oldies but goodies to take advantage of the other coupons — after all the special events this year, I'm all sale'd out of pretty much everything in the back catalogue I might remotely have wanted to buy but didn't when it first came out.

Well, I am now in the dilemma of what to spend the $50 on. I do have a ton of stuff on my wishlist that might merit the coupon, but after being on the fence for so long about Genesis 2, I am now debating whether or not I should use the discount for Victoria 6 Bundle.

    Anyone care to weigh in?

Gia surprisingly made the Genesis 2 figure worthwhile for me, among others. You can render warrior women, or muscular women, or just really toned women- there's a great versatility there. Some really nice hairstyles too- very feminine. And Nova is fantastic! Beautiful skin, easy to light, the list goes on. So there are some very appealing characters with Genesis 2.

With G2Male/M6 imminent, Zev0's Growing Up G2F and a promised G2Male version giving us G2Kids, and a sledload of conversion tricks and utilities for clothes, morphs, and textures? Yeah, it might be time to buy in. This month I got the V6 base for less than $15 between the 40% PC discount and a 40%-off coupon -- I didn't get one of the V6 bundles because what I wanted out of them I'd gotten at 65%-off earlier, and I got the gens in the G2Girl pro bundle.

A lot of the G2F characters require the V6 UV so if you're getting into G2 it's good to have at least the base, although I've noticed some G2F characters built on the V5 or V4 UVs too. As for whether G2's worth it for itself? I haven't had much rendering time in the last few months to really work with it (and little inclination without the G2Male available) but it does have some advantages over Genesis1 aside from simply being current, such as better support for facial expressions, and more sensible content standards such as separate head & body morphs instead of monolithic character morphs and then a head morph to zero that if you want to use something else (which I heard from SickleYield, hadn't noticed it myself -- there are several people who've been enthusiastic about G2 improvements aside from female-only clothes-fitting).

I'd say yes to G2F, but maybe on the V6 pro bundle -- look at the various G2 bundles, check out what's got the most content you really want. If you'd like to have the G2F gens? All the pro bundles have it except Teen Josie's.

I was doing a little calculating, and Daz was actually fairly generous with it Mega prize. A person could have reached Tier 2 by spending as little as $65 to $70

    2 freebies - 0
7 Pc release at 1.59 = 11.13 (the first 2 weeks had 8 pc releases)
3 items (3.5 to 5) = 12 (each week there were (3 or 4)PC bundles or PA items under $5 many under $4)

    = 23 each week
you only had to reach tier 2 3 times to get the mega prize = $66

Just the one $50 coupon almost made it worth while.

On average there was 2 freebies each week and 7 PC releases at 1.59 so a person could have reached tier one for as little as $20.

Did anyone actually shop this way?
If... achieving Mega Prize was the objective, its not likely one would shop just purchasing the lowest price items. One reason is because during the sale, you dont know if enough low cost items will be available to achieve a tier goal. So most likely along the way you purchased items that deliver most personal joy and value - like the budget busting Creature Creator or Teen Josie items.

    In a word - Yes.
    In 3 words - Yes, I did.
    Full explanation -
I don't have a lot of money and I liked most of the $1.59 items. The free ones are no brainers. I didn't buy the cheapest PA items, I bought the ones I wanted that I could afford.

It was stated up front in several threads for those who cared to read that there would be 7 PA items and 2 free ones every week.

It also was stated up front that you needed 12 items to reach Tier 2.

It was also stated up front that you needed 3 weeks to achieve the Mega Prize.

The only surprise was that there ended up being 5 weeks, which didn't hurt anybody.

I spent about $75 or so to reach the Tier 2 MegaPrize. I have no problem with what it is. Between the MegaPrizes and the Tier Prizes along the way I feel I got a good deal, along with purchasing stuff that I wanted.

The information is out there. People need to engage their brains and use them. Or if you have lots of money, just buy away.

Yep -- a good event sale isn't just about good deals, it's also about enjoying the new stuff you're getting and the anticipation of the deals 'n' stuff coming up. Of course from DAZ's side it's about making money and generating goodwill (because that leads to more money-making), so rewarding buyers with discounts that encourage more buying makes sense, right? But those are rewards -- prizes are different. Legitimate prizes shouldn't cost you more money. When somebody phones you, tells you you've won a prize, and then tells you how ‘little’ it'll cost you to get it? What do you call that?

Over the PCA I've bought every new PlatClub item and a lot of the extra-discounted PA products, because they were (with the exception of maybe three of the new $1.59 PlatClub items), things I wanted and could use -- I'm very happy to have them, especially at such excellent prices, and maybe that should be enough. But not only did I spend waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much money on these wonderful deals (I hit Tier 2 every week), we were told that if we bought enough of the right stuff we'd get some nice prizes at the end. What did we get? Lets see, 50%-off the G2Female Ranger Bundle (which means I spent ten bucks instead of twenty buying a bundle that the only thing in it I really wanted were the $5-something poses, although I like the low-heel boots). A fifty-dollar coupon that's useless to me (since it excludes new releases and is DOs only -- my own fault for being such a good customer, I guess). Fifty-percent off of a bunch of PA stores (that were all fifty percent off a month ago). And a mere 30% more off of a long-anticipated and desperately needed M6 bundle. Now, these are rewards, no question -- but is any of these a prize? (Outside of a booby-prize, I mean.) With the possible exception of the $50 DO-only coupon (for those who can use it), these all take spending even more money to get.

I've got the money in my DAZ store balance, thanks to buying myself too many on-sale gift certificates -- I can't rightly say that I'm all spent out. But after over two months of maxing out my credit card (to DAZ's and the PA's benefit, happy-making as the deals were), I feel all spent out.

I can't speak for anyone else but I'm not really.

It said when the mega-prize was first announced that M6 would be "later in the month". I took that to mean at least a week after the prize unlocked on the 5th. Since the coupon for it doesn't expire until the 3rd of December I would guess they'll probably release it around the middle of the month which should give people enough time to get a payday in before their coupon expires.

My best guess is somewhere around the 18th or 19th so I'll wait until then to start getting frustrated.

Yeah, that "later in the month" was rather soothing. If they had said "soon" I'd be pretty ANGRY right now. :)

No frustration here. 'Later in the month' is good enough for me. It helps me spread my purchases out over several paydays. I've used the Ranger coupon and the 50$ coupon (on the V6 Pro Bundle), and I'm going to pick up a few PA items with the 50% off coupon; M6 can wait until later in the month. I still haven't had time to play with most of what I've gotten in the PC Anniversary yet.

The 50% off Mega Coupon for PA Vendors involved in the Sale, is that a one time use only are an unlimited use? All the other codes say but that one.

That Mega Coupon has made it all worth while for me. I've used it several times now and as somebody else pointed out.. it's 'stackable' with other deals. I just ended up buying several Stonemason products that I've been eyeing for ages and never bought because the price... I was able to take advantage of the current 50 percent off and then use the Megacoupon to get 50 percent off that.. or a total of 75 percent off. You gotta love getting a 30 dollar set for only 7.50! Make sure and take advantage of it.. it's only good for a few more days.

Thanks DAZ... I'm a very happy customer!

Thanks, it was your post that made me realize I could use the coupon on top of the sale price on the Stonemason items. And there was also a $5.00 off automatic coupon today; I got a ton of stuff for very little money. Since my main interest is superheroes, all the urban Stonemason items I picked up will be getting a lot of use.

Yeah, I ended up spending money I wouldn't have normally budgeted for the current sale and if it last a little longer, I probably end up picking up even more items. For me, it worked out to be about 80 percent off which is great since I didn't have to wait till it popped up in a quick sale like I usually do.

I figured I better take advantage of the bargains while I can... Glad somebody else got a bargain too!

Cry wolf then because if you look at the current Dreamlight sale at 75% off and then use your stackable coupon with it... You'll be getting unbelievable bargains.

I think the animation deity must have been listening because I just bought so many items at bargain basement prices, I still can't believe it. I mean, stuff I had basically written of as too expensive and never going to buy.. I just bought them all.

Just for example, "Destroyed Bridge" original price is 35 bucks... I just bought it for under 5 dollars!

You guys better hurry up and make your purchase before that coupon expires~

Hope you guys get some great bargains too!

Reminder: last day to use your PA mega prize coupons! Also last day to use your $20/$50 DAZ Original coupon...if anyone is still holding onto it, that is! These coupons do stack with the Build-Your-Own-Bundle promotion, plus the Stonemason/Cornucopia 3D sale is still active and will stack with the PA coupon... (StreetWear stuff is on sale too, but doesn't stack).

Well this was BOUND to happen - I totally forgot to use one of my $6 coupons, darn it! Oh well. It's not like I didn't take full advantage of everything else, especially stacking the bundles and 50% PA coupon, and spent WAY too much money. The kids are going to be so disappointed come Christmas morning, but what are you going to do? And keep checking the tv lisitings since I've recently been filmed for new reality show "Digital Hoarders"
