OOT Hair Blending?

DDCreateDDCreate Posts: 1,398

I have this product https://www.daz3d.com/georgia-hair-and-oot-hairblending-2-0-for-genesis-3-female-s (and a few others tha tuse hair blending too) but I've never figured out just how to make it work. I have the hair selected, I chose the color I want, select the green ON button to activate, then I select the type of blending, then the color to blend. No go. I also tried selecting the hair in SURFACES and that didn't do it either. Is there anyone out there that has this down? I'm sure I'm just a click or two off but i'm out of ideas.

Thanks for any help!

You won't see anything until you render, but as I recall your steps are correct.

Oooof course. As soon as I ask I figure it out. What I did this time was Apply the Hair>APPLY FIRST BASE MATERIAL>Turn ON Hair Blending>Pick the Bace Color>Type of Blending>Blending Color. And it worked. I picked the lightes hair shade and then dark red for the blending color and it works!

Yes. :) OutOfTouch uses a custom shader for the hair. Without the "Apply this first" material, the other settings won't work as desgined. I like the extra realism layering colors adds. Even just a slight shade variation makes the hair look more real.

Yeah I love OOT Hair. My hang up was I that I picking the base hair color BEFORE turning on the blending. And I agree, it's a lot of fun to play with the different options and colors.
