Copying products to new location

I've watched the YouTube video on how to change installation directories and have Studio recognize the change and operate from the new location. Problem is, I've got over 300 gig of products (and lots from third party sources), so I'm wondering if simply copying the directory structure to another drive would work? I'm certain the database would need to be updated, but how? I really want to avoid having to reinstal stuff via DIM. If there is a process, please let me know.
Thanks in advance,
Scott

The database stores only relative paths - the locations of files within the content directory, not the location of the content directory itself - so moving the files from My Daz 3D Library to a new location, even if both path and folder name were different, would not break DS. If you installed with Install Manager it does remember the absolute location (drive and path) of the files - you can either turn on the Install Updates to Current Install path option (click the gear icon att op-right, then go to the Installation tab) or, after adding the new path and assuming you kept the zips, select everything in the Installed tab, right-click, and use the Reinstall command.
Didn't keep the .zips. Simply too many and take up too much space. So, I can do this and not have to reinstall over 1500 products?
Thanks, again!

Just thought I'd give an update.
After copying all content from the original location to the new location, DAZ worked. Existing things worked just fine. I moved to the Install Manager. I did the mods suggested but all my products showed that they needed to be installed. So, instead of fighting this through, I just decided to install them... and that's what it's doing right now. It'll be a while, but thanks again to Richard. You're spot on right about DAZ not being broken. Third party content worked just fine, too.
After the install is complete (I'm going to bed!), I'll test for a couple of days then I'll blow away the original installation directory and free up over 300gig of space.

DIM tracks its installs by the Manifests folder, in Public Documents/Daz Install Manager as I recall - if you moved that you needed to tell DIM its new location in the Settings dialogue>Installation tab. Sorry, I thought it was only the content you were moving so didn't think anything about this.
Richard,
No need to apologize, sir. You always are such a great help and I appreciate it.
Here's the deal, the video doesn't match the latest version of the Install Manager, but I did create the manifests folder and link it. It's all good, but I think there's a bug. I'll report it. No matter what I did, I couldn't get DIM to believe it had installed the products. So, ultimately, I just downloaded them all. :) It was done when I woke up and everything works fine.
