How To Export As OBJ With Textures & Then Import OBJ With Textures Into DazStudio 4.10

Having serious issues with importing OBJ with textures into DazStudio 4.10.

Everything I then export as an OBJ with textures and then import OBJ with textures back into DazStudio 4.10

The orignal textures are then not there upon the OBJ object. Is there anyway of then solving this issue, Anyone??

What program did you make the OBJ in?   and did you save it complete with an MTL file.

Can you not simply reapply the original materials? If the surface names were preserved, and they are not from a Hierarchical Materials prset, that should work. OBJ sijmply won't preserve all the material settings for most shaders even if you manage to get it to hold onto the basic diffuse/bump/opacity.

I have to agree completely with Richard. I cannot recall ever having successfully exported to a wavefront object and then brought it back into daz studio with all the material settings preserved. I believe it is simply a limitation of that (very old) .mtl format. However, I do consistently get the material zones to correctly survive, so I can re-apply the materials. If you are referring to the ability to preserve any texture maps (diffuse, bump, opacity, specular, etc. images), then you must ensure that you have "Collect Maps" checked in the export dialogue to ensure that a Maps folder is created in the same location as the .obj and .mtl files in order to have them load when you re-import your object.
