Have a problem with lighting, Image is dark.

I'm using Daz 4.10 and had a couple of times when the image is darker after rendering.  It looks alright on my screen but when I render it it's a little on the dark side.  For now I'm using Photoshop to brighten it but I would like to know how to correct it.  In both cases they scenes were inside a room.  In one case I took 4 different scenes in the same room and only one of them came out darker.

Any ideas?

If this is Iray look at the Tone Mapping group in the Editor tab of Render Settings.

Just watched a great video on render settings, but he also includes a lot of tips abot rendering indoor scenes, including some ideas I had never thought about. The full video is 2 hours long, but it's well worth the time investment.

It is Iray.  So, what am I suppose to look for in the Tone Mapping group?

Adjust exposure, or ISO (higher), Shutter Spped (lower) or fstop (lower).

  • Thanks, I'll give it a try.

  • Yep, lowering fstop helped.  Thanks for the info.
