mac vs. PC

Hi, everyone.  I am a long-time Mac user and have DAZ installed on my MacBook Pro and my Mac Mini desktop.  I have been reading that Apple users seem to have some native problems with DAZ.  Lately my laptop system is crashing a lot in DAZ, and I am currently on try #4 to do a simple dforce simulation.  It's frustrating.  If PCs are way better, then I would not be opposed to considering a PC  that would mostly be dedicated to this work.  Just curious about your experiences and thoughts.

The issue is that Macs do not have nVidia GPUs, and iray requires one if it is not to be limited to the CPU (much slower to render). OpenCL is available on both platforms, and that is what dForce uses, and I'm not aware that you need do anything to enable on a Mac it as long as your hardware/driver supports it.

Yes my renders can be horrifically slow, and I now see that's why.  I also have had big slow-ups with simulations in dforce - usually followed lately by a crash.  I do need to upgrade to the newest OS on my Mac, which might help.  Thanks for your input, as always.

I've just answered you in the other post, now I have no doubts you'll see a huge improvement with a standard PC! :D
