Certain Poses and the "Zero Point"

Hi!

With march madness going over, I know own a lot of poses, which is nice... Not so nice are some of them, e.g. "Mage and Apprentice", but there are some with  the same issue.

When I apply some poses, the figure seem to "jump" to a certain location, and the Zero-Point, where, for example, the Y-Rotate is centered, stays elsewhere, sometimes over 100 units away from the figure. I know, that those poses are meant for one certain envoirment, where the figure then automatically goes to a certain spot...

...but is there a way to trick these poses into being "usable anywhere"?

Thank you in advance!

The easiest way to to place them where you want is to parent the figrue to a NULL first and then move the null where you want it and pose the figure.  The NULL acts like the zero point for the figure regardless of where it is in the scene.

Poses, unless they are placement poses for locating a figure within a scenery set, shouldn't do that so you should report them to technical Suport please. In the emantime, zero any translations on the hip or on the figure node (and if necessary use cmd/ctrl D to drop the figure back to the floor).

You mentioned that some of the poses are meant for certain scenes, if you want your figures to stay put, hold down Ctrl while you double click the pose. Then a menu should open with load options. Just uncheck all the translations and click accept. Then the pose should load without moving the figure.

  • Thanks a lot for the tipps! That really helped smileyyes
